Personal history
Wylliam comes from the Aurumfels, though his appearance and name suggest an origin or heritage from the Northeast. His family moved when he was young, and he doesn't remember much of his homeland.
Wylliam was originally considered a troubled child, he did not do well in school, couldn't keep friends, and had a lot of friction within the community concerning the values of his contributions when he became old enough to enter the workforce.
Ultimately his parents kicked him out of the house, and he stayed with a steadily decreasing number of friends for several months while he contemplated the right way to spend his time.
After a string of hirings and firings, he grew resentful of his options, and fell in with a bad crowd. This didn't last, either, however, as his abrasive personality irritated his would-be criminal companions, and he viewed their choices in heists and strategies as woefully pathetic, and made sure to let them all know everything wrong with every idea.
This would have ended poorly for him, had he not already made the kinds of preparations and escape plans he had berated them for lacking, and managed to run to the safety of local law enforcement, where he proceeded to elaborately detail what they had been doing wrong to catch the criminals, and what they should have been doing all along to prevent the crimes from persisting.
This gave Wylliam the chance he needed, the offended police swallowed their pride, considered his intelligence, and offered him a reasonable position as a consultant, on the spot. Wylliam was so underwhelmed by the shallowness of the offer, and the accidental ease with which he acquired it, that he spent several minutes insulting what little he had seen of the station and the officer's methods, before storming out and stealing several pointless items in the process. The law enforcement was so confused by the unexpected tirade that they didn't place a warrant for his arrest for nearly the rest of the day.
Wylliam threw some rocks into the woods, and decided to hitchhike out of town, and into the city. Naturally his first idea was giving crime a second chance. Things got a little complicated, and after a well orchestrated double cross, involving pretending to return some valuables, Wylliam had a crisis of conscience and made it a triple cross, once again taking sides with law enforcement, and trapping most of his co-criminals in fierce and sudden betrayal, earning him the scrutinous eye of favor with the local authorities.
After a lot of questioning, and eventual release, Wylliam decided, instead to take his own initiative, and applied for a position as an investigator with the law enforcement. His first assignment was a cold-case of a string of missing persons given to him as a joke, which he delightfully considered a challenge of his abilities.
