Personal history
Born in 1166 as the youngest son of a couple in the Badlands by the name of Tyrian and Jamnia , Ozilith was the third child of a nomadic family of yuan-ti purebloods, that spent much of their time simply living. Life in the badlands was difficult, and the five only truly survived due to the drudic arts that Jamnia practiced. A family of five, barely surviving in a land where only the strong survived, with only each other to lean upon…. is it any wonder that the bonds of family and blood became paramount to these five? Their lives were simple, if hard, but it was in 1177, when Ozilith was 11 years old, that disaster struck the family. They had stopped at a rocky outcropping for the night, farther east and closer to Khao than they had ever ventured before. It was around midnight when a group of Ankhegs attacked, catching the family off guard. Ozilith's parents and older brother, the eldest, ordered his sister, Amzala to take him up the rock to safety while they dealt with them. His brother, Raxum was the first to die, followed shortly by his mother. Tyrian was the final to fall, his screams of defiance and anguish turning into anger, but not once pain, as the man finally died. All the while, young Ozilith's eyes were glued to the scene in horror, his sister quietly sobbing and able to to naught but hold him. There was no sleep to be had that night…. Several weeks pass, Amzala learned well from Tyrian and Raxum how to survive without the use of Jamnia's druidic magics. They continued east, following the Sickened Sea into the jungles of Khao. In a land that was far more lush than the land of their birth, things were looking up for the siblings. They had food, water, and supplies of vine woven rope and clothes. Until, one day 2 weeks after they entered Khao, Amzala disappeared one night, taking with her all of the supplies that they had gathered. Ozilith searched for several hours, only to reluctantly realize that the more he searched the more of a target he was to the predators that likely lined the jungles. So he started walking and attempting to survive on his own as he continued making his way east through the jungles. He succeeded, if barely, for the most part. Until two months into his trip, on the brink of starvation, he stumbled onto a corpse. A dead halfling, dead by poison, and having been dead for barely half a day. To hungry and steeped in his lizardfolk upbringing to care, he didn't pass up the meal. With what little supplies the halfling corpse had that he could use, he took, and continued his way east. The final month was perhaps the most dangerous, and injured him the most. Most of the cloth that he salvaged from the Halfling was used to make rudimentary bandages for the various open wounds that he suffered, all of them scarring. The final leg of the journey turned him south into the Rolling Wastes of Northern Daborak, as he ran for his life to escape wolves. It was on the edge of a small town, the only thing notable within it being a Temple dedicated to the Light of Purity, Glory, that the wolves finally caught up with him. A single claw entered his stomach, just to the right of his naval. The wound was not large, but it was deep. The villagers chased off the wolves as they ran out to investigate the scream of pain, as his consciousness faded from blood loss on the steps to the temple. For several days the work of the priest in the temple managed to save his life, and offered Ozilith a home. Seeing no reason not to accept the offer of the man that saved his life, he accepted and the next five years were spent as a combination of explaining why corpses aren't for eating, and changing his habits to be more accommodating to life in Daborak. Five years pass, and at 16 another boy that lived within the Temple swiped alcohol and offered everyone a drink. Long after everyone else had passed out, Ozilith continued drinking, a moment of weakness leading to him to attempt to die via alcohol poisoning. Of course as a poison, it had no effect on him. And two months after he began training to become a Paladin. For 15 years he trained to harness the divine magics inherent to Paladins, and to become one worthy of being called a Paladin of Glory. After achieving this, he bade farewell to the man that had saved his life, and at the age of 31 joined the Steel Saints.
