Personal history

Born and raised by a lower middle class family, Arthur has been the proud owner of Chapman's Bargains for over 40 years. In this time, he has seen it all - and sadly lost almost everything too.
 
As a young man Arthur deeply fell in love with a woman named Lucy. Though he was far too afraid to ask her out straight away, eventually the choice was taken from him when she asked him out instead, and their relationship quickly blossomed after that.
A few months into the relationship she moved in with him, and a year later they were tying the knot and expecting the birth of their daughter.
 
In a horrible turn of events, Lucy and their daughter Ava died 4 years later in a car accident. Arthur never got romantically involved with another woman after this.

Education

Arthur finished college, but was already working in his father's shop at this point and didn't have any strong ambitions to build something new.

Employment

Arthur took over his father's shop when he was 18, and became the legal owner of Chapman's Bargains when his father passed away 5 years later.
