The Short Of It
Usi's parents immigrated to America in the mid 70s and a few years later Usi was born. He grew up very handsomely (Striking Looks 4 dots) in middle class country-suburbia of Bastrop, TX with little strife and graduated college in 2000 with a double major in Accounting and Computer Engineering from UT Austin, easily navigating many difficult classes having become well practiced using his prodigious memory skills (Eidetic Memory 2 dots, Trained Memory 1 dot). He landed a very prestigious job at a brokerage firm called Bear Stearns.
 
Unfortunately, 8 years later this 85 year old institution would collapse as one of the many dominos that fell leading to the now-infamous Great Recession. Their buy-out to JPMorgan in March '08 left Usi jobless and angry, looking for an explanation for how this could have happened. So he began looking in to how this could happen.
 
Less than 30 days later Usi began posting online his web of what led to where they were and also his predictions of where everything was heading. Some nights later, his vision for making connections was rewarded with an induction into The Lynx, his sire being very impressed with his skills using a computer to piece together webs of information (Area of Expertise: Computers, 2 dots).
 
Since then, finding patterns and making predictions have been his focus, and his computer skills have become elevated to dizzying heights. A few years ago his talent was brought to the Prince's attentions and Usi has been finding interesting things to show off. The relationship has been an interesting one and the Prince has finally begun to train Usi to slow his offered information to a manageable trickle of well curated bits, and lately has tasked Usi with offering "jackets" to the Prince(Trained Observer 3 dots). A packet of intel with probable situation and results, as well as ideas for solutions if the situation is unfavorable to the Prince's goals.
 
The Long Of It
In 2004, Usi’s parents became disillusioned with America after the double whammy of CIA admitting to lying about WMDs in order to invade Iraq followed closely by the revelation of abuse in Abu Ghraib. The tension of being of middle eastern in America, with heavy accents, had made things difficult already. By July, they had sold their home in Bastrop to Usi and moved to New Zealand. Usi remained living in New York and rented out the property. Usi asks his high school friend and realtor Jamie to manage the property. She tells Usi the time to purchase more houses is now, but Usi holds off. Instead he spends the rest of his liquid assets, about $12k, to buy in on the Google ISO the next month for $80/share. He tells Jamie, “If it does ok, maybe I’ll buy another house.” It never really takes off like Usi hoped, so he just sits on it. He does eventually purchase 3 more homes before 2008, however, as business at Bear Stearns was great. Until it wasn’t.
 
He crash-lands in Bastrop in 2008, his one good piece of luck being his parents’ old home happened to be vacant. Once he gets his bearings as a Lynx about 9 months later he begins using all available resources to leverage purchasing more properties and building an online community of programmers/hackers, which has continued to grow and thrive today(Contacts 3).
 
As he embraced his embrace he became very reclusive, but also very adept at covering his tracks and erasing traces of himself online (Anonymity 4 dots). He maintained contact with Jamie, however, and eventually revealed his new condition to her, and she willingly became his ghoul (Retainer 2 dots), helping to keep him housed. Jamie is a very attractive, friendly and sociable realtor who is happy to help Usi as she enjoys the feeling of power it brings, as well as just being a long-time friend (social-build, at your discretion).
 
The catastrophic fire that destroyed over 1600 homes in Bastrop, TX in 2011 was terrifying for Usi and it was in no small part due to Jamie that he was able to survive. The loss of literally his entire safe haven had him learn how best to blend back in with humans, and he returned to his high school penchant for dark clothing with hoods (Unobtrusive 3 dots). He also spent some time diving the Lynx Web and learning how to have his havens, temporary or otherwise be overlooked (learning to access Occultation for Haven)
 
After settling for some massive insurance payouts for all real estate holdings and being convinced by other Lynx that Bastrop could have a repeat fire, Usi decided to move to Dallas. He expanded his financial holdings by purchasing both residential and commercial properties in the fast growing North Dallas area, again using Jamie to face the proceedings. One of the commercial properties was in east Plano’s warehouse district and after a few years Usi was able to construct a Data Center/Server farm (Resources 3 dots). During its construction, Usi leveraged his burgeoning influence within Dallas to have a basement apartment with multiple exits constructed but left completely off the city plan and blueprints. Usi has implemented some further security safeguards as well (Haven 1, Security 2, Size 1, Occultation 1).
 
His foray into security was initially selfish, to help secure his haven, but he found the whole process quite intriguing and has set up a secondary online forum for people in the security business, specializing in reviews for camera systems and collecting experts in the field for video clip reviews and how-to’s and generally expanding his Contacts into security as well as computers. Easily enough given the overlap these days. This allowed Usi to further learn from the Lynx network, eventually picking up the Butcher’s Hook trick and began to realize what his role might be in Dallas(Invictus Status 3)(Invictus Merit Moderator).
 
This also led Usi to meeting a video editor/streamer computer whiz he’d initially contacted via his programmer forum. Mike was fairly knowledgeable about computers and the like, despite being focused on trying to become “the next Tyler1” and spending a surprising time at the gym. Mike began as a video editor but eventually Usi hired him to manage the data center, giving him a lot of latitude in his schedule in exchange for his tech expertise. He has very recently been ghouled (Retainer 2 more dots) and has proven very loyal, tech-savvy and physically capable (mental/physical build, at your discretion). He’s even been encouraging Usi to hone his natural speed and dexterity (Fast Reflexes 3 dots) and ability to hide (Perfect Stillness 1 dot)
 
Most recently, Usi has been able to leverage his resources (both offers of use of server power, as well as monetary reward) amongst the programmer hacker forum to forge a powerful resource when he needs multiple minds to help with a unique bit of code (Crowdsourcing Invictus merit, requires Resources 3 & Contacts 3).
