As an orphan she fought against societies imperfections to survive, and after losing faith in trusting the nature of the city she retreated and entrusted her life to nature and its supernatural loyalty. She's known how to run from guards and taxmen consistently and therefore has considerable practice. She's always looking out for her younger brother Heinz, the same way he does his best to look out for her, and most of her survival has involved him as her "other half".   Many friends and relationships she's made have always been a means to an end of survival, so she's very careful about becoming attached to others, since it could lead her to become burdened, and put either her or her brother in danger.
