Acknowledged in the mortal world as a widely-published and well-respected self-help 'expert', Clayton is actually a member of New York City's ruling Kindred body, the August Council. Representing the Ministry of Set, Clayton rules over Manhattan between recording sessions and "writing" new books. Mysteriously, it is in Manhattan that the Camarilla have established a foothold, though Clayton and his followers do not seem concerned or overly interested in their activities.
 
Clayton offered for the coterie to come work for him in Manhattan, but they declined based on the nature of the work. Blake appeared to smooth the blow to his ego, though who can say how long a Kindred might hold a grudge?
