So basically my main idea is that she came from this well-off maybe influential family in the Capital but had a toxic home life (or some other something, havent quite figured out what makes her leave). But she runs away and in the process finds a group that she thinks would be like her own party and she travels with them a bit but then they end up screwing her over and tricking her into a heist or framing her or something of the sort and that is how she winds up in jail. And maybe like in that she realized that she is an outsider because of her race, where she wasn't as much in her home city, not really sure but those are my ideas
 
 
You didn't know it then, but you were hired to break into a barracks
You weren't told what was there, just that they needed or alchemist skills to .... Disable something
They were idiots though and underestimated the strength of the guards
Before being caught, you noticed that the guard sleeping on duty was wearing armor that you had never seen before
And considering you are from the capitol that is quite something
You'd have seen all levels of armor and insignia
The suit of armor was a bright rose gold from head to toe
You would have also noticed a distinct lack of diversity in this golden order of guards
Each and every one of them were high elves
By the time the guards eyes snapped open another already had you immobilized
And your "group" had abandoned you
