Kini is a halfling trying to make her way in the world. As an artificer and adventurer, life's not easy for someone so down on their luck, just trying to make ends meet.. But perhaps that's all about to change...

Kini is an artificer halfling from a forest village. As a child, she watched as the village craftsmen created goods to help support the village, and eventually learned several different trades. When she was old enough, she set out to be an adventurer in an attempt to support her adoptive older sister, who was running a small potions shop, and for whom money was tight.
 
Despite being known for luck, Kini seemed cursed to end up with parties who mistreated her constantly, resulting in her barely having enough money to get by. Once such group even nearly killed her in order to save their own hides.
 
After this incident, Kini learned how to create a Steel defender. Not having access or funds to create something super advanced, she assembled a defender from as a patchwork of parts, earning him the name Patchy.
 
Armed with her now metallic bodyguard, Kini decided to put more effort into her crafting, so she could be more selective about the parties she traveled with. However, she still always made sure to keep her guard up around anyone she traveled with, lest they try to take advantage of her. She didn't do much better in the money department, but at least the risk to her health was lower!
 
Recent traveling has brought her to Eastwind, where she's visiting a couple of old acquaintances of hers.
