Appearance
Physical Description
Aradon is extremely lean and mostly built on muscle gained from swimming, fighting, and moving heavy equipment and containers. His dual-colored hide is reminiscent of most deep-sea sharks and is covered in a set of nearly imperceptible, fine scales. These scales bristle and grow when he shifts into his more animalistic form. His face is usually more in line with a half-orc, flat with a forward brow and straight nose, but his upper jaw extends outward when he shifts causing his many rows of teeth to extend forward, making them more capable of biting.
Body Features
Aradon's jaws are extremely well defined due to their strength and a significant number of teeth. Fin-like protrusions on his elbows, lower legs, and back can also be seen and aid in swimming.
Facial Features
Shallow, dark eyes over the top of a tight, set jaw. His snout is large and pronounced even before shifting. The line between the dark grey-blue of his upper face and the pale color of his lower face aligns with the tip of his nose.
Identifying Characteristics
He's a walking, talking shark. Kinda hard to miss. He also wears several large, locked, metal items that used to be part of diving gear.
Physical quirks
Due to his excessive number of teeth, his face is usually either stuck in a scowl or a terrifyingly unusual "grin". The metal pieces attached to his chest, arms, and legs all have the remains of chainmail hanging from them that clatters loudly when he walks.
Apparel & Accessories
A large, metal "collar" made from the remains of an old diving suit was repurposed to limit Aradon's ability to bite people, and now he has grown accustomed to it and refuses to let others attempt to remove it. Similar metal "bracers" are placed on his wrists and shins, forming a sort of makeshift armor out of what was previously used to restrain him.
Specialized Equipment
Aradon carries a reinforced fishing spear with bits of twisted anchor and chain bolted into the haft, forming a pike.
Special abilities
Aradon has an affinity for manipulating his own blood after his accident, in addition, his species is capable of holding their breath for extremely long periods of time. HHis jaws are also significantly powerful enough to be used as a weapon in combat.
Mentality
Personal history
Aradon was born on and raised on a small rocky atoll in the eastern fade of the Gold Run. While the island is not present on most maps by default, many sailors know to steer clear of it whenever possible as it, and a collection of other nearby islands, are home to a society of seafaring shifters that attack, raid, and sink many ships that come near their home; either because they have gotten lost, or because they want to avoid common routes. Aradon was very young when he was taken on his first raid, pike in hand, and was captured by pirates that had lured him and several of his brethren into a series of net traps. The pirates used Aradon and several of the other captured shifters to scour the deeper waters, find sunken treasure, sink opposing ships, and other tasks. Aradon was treated poorly and his mental state when surrounded by strangers reflects this, he is slow to trust and is very particular about physical contact, magic, and other things that are strange to him.
The pirates found that normal chains were too brittle to stop the shifter’s teeth so they instead used old fashioned diving gear to restrain them as if they were wearing collars. Aradon does not let anyone remove his, and instead uses it like armor, reinforcing it as necessary. A fellow detainee, a pirate from a scuttled ship, made a plan to break himself and Aradon out of captivity. He called himself Roach and taught Aradon how to fashion crude lockpicks from small bones, pieces of driftwood, and other materials. The two fled towards the Coalition and made landfall on a small island chain in the Cobalt Stream. While there, Roach helped Aradon assimilate himself into ‘normal’ society somewhat, to the point where he even joined a Guild as a butcher.
Finding that he needed money to maintain hiis limited status at the guild, and finding little help from those within it due to his past and aggressive disposition, Aradon found himself going to less than ideal means to make ends meet. He began seeing a strange man obsessed with unnatural, semi-magical modification, and was paid gold in order to be experimented on. Doctor Tarley, as he called himself, had apparently been disavowed from the World Coalition Navy due to his obsession with trying to create more effective military combatants, even among those who couldn’t utilize magic. He spent a significant amount of time experimenting with Arradon’s blood, altering the shifter’s physiology somewhat. Eventually this created the possibility to ‘charge’ Aradon’s body with innate magical energy at the expense of blood used as the catalyst for the reaction. The doctor became somewhat obsessed with Aradon’s shifter abilities and tried to alter his prototypes to enable that effect in “normal” test subjects. The final test of which was to be done on Doctor Tarley himself, but the Coalition had found out about such dangerous and inhumane experiments and sent an unaffiliated hitman to end the project by force.
During the attack, the experimental procedure went haywire, causing Tarley’s body to mutate into an almost lycanthropic version of Aradon’s shark physiology, permanently altering his appearance to that of a somewhat monstrous entity. A violent explosion occurred in the lab shortly thereafter, Aradon fled immediately, assuming both the hitman and Tarley had been killed. He was arrested shortly afterwards and exiled from the World Coalition, threatened with execution should he return. Aradon made his was slowly back towards Gold Run, taking small jobs here and there guarding freight, moving equipment, and skulking docks at night.
Education
Aradon learned how to hunt, cook, and butcher food on his home isle. Roach mentored him in lockpicking, sneaking, and the ways of the pirate world should he need some help later in life.
Employment
Aradon has worked as a butcher and as hired muscle but spent a significant amount of time being experimented on or being used to attack ships.
Aradon viewed the chef's guild in the World Coalition as the closest thing he has ever had to family since the attack on his reef. Even if he wasn't treated well by other guild members, he views it as something to take pride in. He wants to rejoin the guild badly, seeing his membership as a gift from Roach that he does not want take lightly.

Contacts & Relations
Roach - an old, human pirate that broke Aradon out of captivity on a slaver vessel. Roach was a mentor to Aradon after they escaped to World Coalition waters. Froom Roach Aradon learned how to cook, pick locks, read and write Theives' Cant, and about finding people to gather shadier information. Aradon trusts Roach moreso than any other person on the planet. Roach is a warm, patient man who originally became a pirate chasing freedom on the high seas. He has dark skin, a leather eyepatch, a bald head, and a somewhat wiry dark grey beard.
Doctor Tarley - A disavowed World Coalition scientist that experimented on Aradon, leading to his blood hunter abilities. Tarley is shrewd, conniving, and always holds a grudge. Aradon dislikes Tarley, but presumes that he died in the attack on his lab. Tarley now resembles a sort of mutilated cross between a sharkhide shifter and an elf. His skin is dark sea green with several patches of scar tissue from the violent transformation.
World Coalition Hitman - A mysterious Dragonborn hitman was sent to stop Doctor Tarley's experimentation. She views Aragon and Tarley both as products of the experimentation that must be destroyed. Aragon knows very little about her and presumes that she died in the attack on the lab. She has bright, viridian scales, is extremely agile, and carries a variety of lightweight weapons to attack prey.
