Aranus was born in the city of Dolten, the child of a tavern owner named wyatt and barmaid octavia however at the age of 12, his home burst into blue flames, as his angelic lineage had fully awakened; blue flames beyond his control, he burned his family and himself, his body scarred, he was hated by the people of his home, calling him the Azure Demon, he was abandoned on the streets, no home would feed him, clothe him or bed him, he left his village as far as he could get, until his legs could carry him no more, eventually in an alleyway he met Sir Almaud, a wealthy man and claimed to work with the night guard, who owned an orphanage in Dolten, because he was once an orphan himself, he felt the boys sadness and he took aranus in and thus Aranus found a new family
Within the orphanage he met many other kids like him, misfits of society, abandoned or otherwise, some with mysterious abilities or curses like himself, he met a girl named Alannah, a half orc who saw over a lot of the younger kids, including her brother Hugo and sister alysse, he became used to his life there in no time, helping around the grounds with chores, and even being instructed in basic combat by Almaud himself, who visited weekly to oversee the children, almaud had particular interest in Aranus, and decided to put him in his “special” program, the orphanage was in fact a guise, beneath the place was a lab, where Almaud and other members of his team experimented on children with magic potential, races etc, and began to research the blue flames Aranus possessed, and promised he would either remove his curse, or teach him how to control it, and that when he was 17 he would help make Aranus a nightguard and live a happy life with alannah.
 
Over the next five years Aranus developed a romance with Alannah, and saw her siblings as family, he would train with Almaud during the day, and undergo experiments at night, his flames growing ever wilder as they discovered under anger and stress his flames would manifest strongly, and hurt others, including himself, covering his body in scars, but he endured it to see through the goals he had, until at the age of 17 the eve of when he would be free, he discovered that almaud had killed some of the others, some chained up to be sold off, and discovered that he intended to use him as a weapon to incite chaos, and take over his body aranus’s flames went wild, and he set the entire lab and orphanage on fire, severely burning himself, and seemingly killing almaud, taking his baldes and leaving him to an unknown fate, able to keep his flames under control long enough to run upstairs and try to find alannah and her siblings, he was able to get alannah and her siblings, and some of the other kids but at the last second, his flames exploded, accidentally killing anyone else in the building, including alannahs siblings, and scarring her, leaving deep burns on his eyes, and changing his eyes to a mix of violet and blue, he was deeply scarred by the event and could only scream.
 
Alannah did not blame him for what he had done, his flames untamed from stress and chaos, she knew he was not in control, and forgave him, only asking he remember all those he had killed to bear the sin, and that he would avenge them, he felt immense guilt, and sought guidance from the gods, finding babylon, who saw his strength and drive, and that he wanted to exact vengeance on the impure, the corrupt, and anyone who had not repented for evil deeds, he blessed him with his strength, asking that he exact vengeance in his name, only using his flame when absolutely necessary, and asked that he fight within darkness, and blessed him with a blindfold, to cover his eyes and keep the azure demon at bay, and thus Aranus was instructed to seek out Lorun, who resided within caves in doltens woods, another who fought in The raven queens name who was blind, and was instructed on how to fight wearing the blindfold, after a year with Lorun he had mastered the art, and was gifted his old armor, and went and joined the crowsworn
 
Over the past 8 years Aranus has traveled all across kalkatesh, exacting vengeance and demanding tribute in babylons name, and punishing them with his Azure flames, he hunted criminals, and made them atone for crimes, exacted revenge via murder oaths, fought off wild demons and monsters that threatened homes and cities, he is looking to be babylons next champion, using the dark to bring justice to the lost, he also seeks to learn a new way of power and exact vengeance, by absorbing their souls and eating them, with the goal of learning how to consume the souls of evil individuals and monsters, so he may one day find almaud and get his own revenge, all the while learning to tame his ever wild flames, which had caused him to destroy things and hurt people albeit unintentionally, and as often as he could, visited alannah, who had opened up a restaurant with coin he provided in Majital and he stay as long as he could, controlling his flames as much as he could in her presence, the one person he wishes to never hurt again.
