Personal history
I was born and raised in a town called (figure out name). A snowy town tucked away in the southern mountains. I grew up alongside my older brother Alysando. Our mother Lesandra a teacher was tasked with helping teach the children of our city and raising two very curious boys. Surrounded by the mountains we would explore nearby caves, caverns, and the tundra.
My father, Sulivan, on the other hand, well that's a different story. He was a cleric who just could not stay home. He joined a party of adventurers and under the guiding hand of Zelaur quested to all ends of the world to help those in need, and though even though I knew what he was doing was going to bring him and our family honor, it still didn't help the hold that was being created in our family. Always one to break promises and to never make plans my father would always say, ' this one is the last, and then I'll settle down and spend time with you all.' But I could see through that and I knew that there was never going to be a 'last time'. After the 30th missed birthday, my school achievements, my brother's issues with staying out of trouble, it was always there one day, a promise of doing something the next day, and a new adventure suddenly coming up.
Though always absent I was never spiteful or mad at my father because this is the life I wanted as well. My dream was to find a party of my own and go on adventures helping those in need and learning more about the world. I wanted to tell the stories of grand adventures as my father told me and my brother as we ate dinner.
The last time, he just never came back.
I didn't much care for it, nor did I pay it any notice, but my brother held on to this idea that he was going to change his ways and come back. My brother developed very sticky hands and would steal and cheat as much as possible to get things we needed or things he wanted. All this did however was cause extra stress. Any extra time that I had not spent at the temple or helping neighboring cities I was cleaning up my brother's messes.
This was the cycle of our lives until the incident that took my brother from me...
I don't talk about that day much. Nor do I ever want to think about it, or what it did to our mother. She lost her sanity, once a brilliant teacher, crumbled into a frail, sickly woman. She doesn't talk anymore, barely eats. Come to think of it, I can't remember that last time I heard her say a word other than an 'mhm' under her breath. I waited on her hand and foot and then continued to spend any other free time at the temple trying to learn as much as I could.
I moved my mother into a home after about 15 years of caring for her. Though hard for me, I could not pursue my passions and dreams while stuck in the city with someone who is not my mother anymore. I know she would want this for me.
After being chosen as a Cleric of Zelaur after my service to my mother and my temple I chose to leave the city and travel north to join the Adventurer's Guild. This is how I'm going to follow in my father's footsteps and start living my dream of adventuring across this vast world I've always wanted to explore.
