Scrawny build but not unmuscular.

Eva has purple hair and whilst she isn't the only person in Mephistopolese who has brightly coloured hair it is still a distinguishing feature.

Physical quirks

Her purple hair is actually the result of a chemical burn she received on one of her first forays into the warrens. The chemicals scarred the left hand side of her head making the hair there patchy and changed the pigmentation from its original brown. Eva now keeps that side permanently shaved.

Eva possesses a seemingly rare piece of technology that allows her to change the colour of her hair, helping her to go incognito. It is clear though that the more the Visor is examined, the more abilities potentially lie in wait to be unlocked.
 
She also wears a jacket made from a heavy material that provides some protection against blunt weapons and small blades.

Personal history

Eva is an orphan who grew up in an orphanage in the lower city sector closest to the Warrens. From an early age she learnt to steal, pickpocket and stealth her way around the dark streets of the underworld. Nearly all orphanages are ‘supported’ by local, small time mob lieutenants who use the children in their criminal network as lookouts, informants and thieves. Every orphan goes by the codename ‘Rat’ so that if the authorities were to ever chase them down, all they’d be met with would be a thousand children call Rat. Eva was no different. Her orphanage was rather small when compared to others but has a strategic position and so a lot of their criminal activity also included ferrying stolen goods and sometimes even drugs between the lower streets and the Warrens. Wanting better for herself and fellow orphans, Eva attached herself to the notion of promoting herself through the criminal world and at thirteen started operations for herself, on the down low mind. She and her peers would take a very small cut off the top before handing the goods over to the mob. Over the next seven years, Eva and her crew began to stand out more and more amongst the orphanage businesses and it became clear to the lieutenant in charge that someone was trying to make a name for themselves. At aged seventeen, Eva successfully ‘negotiated’ a better deal for her orphanage by repelling the lieutenants’ attempts to clamp down on them. He was consequently sent ‘on a trip’ and now Eva only hand goods over to mob boss Oliver Sykes’ right hand man.
 
Eva has certainly gone a long way in making a name for herself to now be known by the big boss himself but there is one rule that even she won’t be able to skirt round and that is that every orphan is taken away at twenty one and put to work in a different part of the criminal organization that best suits their talents. Now aged twenty, time is running out for Eva and if she is to seriously challenge Sykes for his empire, then she is going to have to expand her influence beyond the Warrens and look for new allies to further her cause.

Right from birth Eva has been a very small and insignificant cog in Sykes' behemoth criminal machine but now she works for herself and simply keeps up the illusion that she still works for Sykes.

Motivation

First and foremost, Eva is chiefly concerned by her position in life and of those there with her. She seeks to provide as much wealth and comfort for her fellows as she can and will bow to no meathead whilst she’s at it. Her ultimate goal though is to climb all the way to the top, to unseat the vicious Sykes and sit atop a criminal throne in order to reshape the lower city and the lives of any future orphans.

Eva is a people person. A smooth talker and some one who can use their social skills to mix with almost any group of people. This knack of being easy to talk to also helps in the way she leads.

Likes & Dislikes

Eva is mother, sister and leader to the other orphans around her and she likes the responsibility that brings. By being in charge it means that she is in a position to be proactive and actually do something to change things for the better.
 
She does not like taking orders and generally being bossed around as this creates a sense of not being in control. Eva also strongly dislikes it when anything bad happens to any of the kids.

Eva has honed her skills as a street urchin and as such has a deft touch when it comes to lockpicking and pickpocketing. She also has an ear for a juicy piece of information that can be used to blackmail or be sold to an information broker. She also now has control of the network her fellow orphans afford her.

Vices & Personality flaws

After a stressful day or a hard job, Eva often frequents a local bar/gambling den. Rarely plays, only has a couple of drinks sat on the corner bar stool. She does however look in on Martin ‘Toffy’ Hobbs. A former Rat three years older than Eva, so named as he was so good at coercing the richer people of the lower city out of their possessions and so earned a reputation for hob-knobbing. Whilst he aided Eva in her endeavours when he was at the orphanage, he now just keeps his head down and gets on with his job of bartending and buttering up patrons so they gamble more. Feeling slightly betrayed by Martin’s lack of continued support after his ascension, Eva treats him quite coldly and leaves almost immediately after copulation. He is nothing more than a means to relieve stress.

Contacts & Relations

Eva’s closest friend is Leanne, her ‘sister’. Not blood related but they’ve been thick as thieves ever since they found themselves at the same orphanage. They even came up with their surname based on insults hurled at them on a daily basis. Leanne is a year younger and effectively Eva’s lieutenant, she helps to plan, organize and rally support to Eva’s more daring schemes against the mob. Should time run out for Eva and she is ‘collected’, Leanne would be the one to carry on operations until her ascension. Very similar to Eva in nearly every way but Leanne does lack that certain leaders’ pizzazz. Leanne is the person Eva cares for above all others.
 
Martin 'Toffy' Hobbs was part of a triumvirate with Eva and Leanne but as he is a few years older was moved on from the orphanage and given a new job. He was all for skimming a little off the top in a 'this is a little cheeky and mischievous' sort of way and didn't really realise that Eva was serious about getting to the top. Since his departure he hasn't been back to the orphanage or helped them in any way, he's just kept his head down and gotten on with things, 'what can we really do against an organisation as vast and oppressive as Sykes' is basically his thoughts. As such Eva treats him quite coldly and while deep down he resents her behaviour because he simply views things differently, he's too passive to challenge her and does also see her point of him abandoning her and the others, he could've kept in touch at least, so he is a little conflicted but mainly just let's things slide. Their relationship wasn't romantic per se but they were definitely more than friends and everyone else speculated. They were at the stage where it was clear they liked each other but were still dancing around the issue like awkward teenagers. They actually lost their virginity to each other though on his last night at the orphanage.

Wealth & Financial state

By controlling Sunnyside, Eva effectively owns the building now and so means that she has some real estate even if the place itself is a bit dilapidated. She has also collected a small amount of coin from her own criminal operations.

There is no room for god or religion in the life they live. Abandoned to a cruel and unforgiving world at birth, a life of crime is all Eva knows. Is it wrong? Legally yes but in a world so corrupt and unjust, no, it is means of survival.
