Pretes was friends with a powerful sorcerer who ended up going bad and connected with some bad spirits. Pretes was a leader in the group and turned the people away from his former friend. The sorcerer used his magic and made Prete's wife leave him. Prete would not give up and the sorcerer died while trying to punish him more. His helper spirits got made and turned the town against him. Pretes had to accept banishment in order to save the town.
