Chess is a seemingly dragon demi human that is not native to Bolderfall. She appeared on it's outskirts and was taken in by the town elder. Her injuries left her with amnesia.
Chess has amnesia. While it's assumed she is just a demi human with strange circumstances that is not in truth. Chess misses the wings she should have and in there place a gemstone is embedded into her back. This puts what she is in flux.
