Born in the Coppermine Reaches, Pimwrick was the youngest child of five. His parents, living in a small burrow of halflings called Gentleborough Thicket, ran a pot crafting and delivery service known as Potters Pottery. Spending the first half of his life here was pleasant, albeit it unexciting. His parents, Pankin Potter and Jasys Potter were focussed on his more talented older brothers and sisters to take over the company one day. As the youngest child, he had almost no prospects of doing this, and he felt out of place. He was mostly sheltered from the outside world, as the Stout Halflings that lived here spent much of their time hiding from giant attacks and trading with the local villages - leaving the Reaches is never encouraged. Pimwrick began to train as a fighter, desiring to learn the techniques of the Underfoot Warriors, a group of halflings that defended others from the giant threat.
After his 20 birthday, however, things got interesting. The war had begun to affect the neighboring Yorhana, as well as overthrowing Korvald, and although Gentleborough Thicket never really relied on outside sources they found many of their best warriors leaving for more defensive locations up North. With a large portion of their clientele gone, Pankin and Jasys considered whether or not to move as well. In the end, the pottery store meant too much to them, and they elected to hire a small group of guards to protect them and remain in Gentleborough Thicket. Pimwrick was excited when he heard about the war, eager to show off his combat abilities.
Soon, the family realized it was difficult to gather money when so many of your clients leave, and they were forced to go on a shopping trip to the southern neighboring city of Killidook, the City of Cogs. Everyone but the parents and his oldest brother stayed home, and they left aiming to sell as much merchandise as possible. Those days in Killidook, Pimwrick learnt much. He finally saw the true effects of war, the bloodshed and hard work from the gnomes of Yorhana, keeping themselves and the Coppermine Reaches out of the grasp of Etherien. He went and visited temples, understood the true meaning of faith and bravery, and was amazed by it. After all was said and done, he and his family began to make their way home once more.
On their way back, however, something unexpected happened. The guards, on a scouting mission with Pimwrick, came across an angry hill giant chasing a group of halflings. They were extremely underequipped to deal with a threat like this, and although the guards tried to remain unseen the hill giant turned its head from the halflings it was chasing to these new combatants. It started to charge at them. The guards ran, but Pimwrick was frozen in fear, his shortsword clutched tightly in his hand. In the moment before the giant struck down on him, however, something strange happened - a flash of firelike energy flickered behind his eyes, and he jumped to dodge the blow. His sword swung around and cut through the giants knee, sending it tumbling to the ground roaring in pain, and Pimwrick jumped onto its back and managed to subdue it until the reinforcements arrived to finish it off. They called Pimwrick a hero, but he said it was the influence of a god.
From this moment on, Pimwrick became known as Pimwrick the Bold. The halfling's whose lives he'd saved spread his tale, dramatizing it somewhat, and he received much praise and appreciation. One day he found a blacksmith, whose husband he had saved, had gifted and sent him a custom warhammer, one-of-a-kind. Also, things happened with his body - he found he fought with even more vigor, and he learnt of abilities he'd never had before. Every night, he thanked whatever god it was that was granting him this strength, and he prayed that one day he may find their temple sothat he may worship them fully. His hair began to fall out as he trained vigorously to become a worthy fighter, a paladin for a god who even he did not know.
Two months ago, Pimwrick decided to set out over the treacherous eastern Coppermine Reaches to get to Folkmar. He left his family with a promise that he would come back when he knew his real purpose, and with a promise to find a way to contact them through letters or the like whenever possible. He headed out, determined to find the deity that empowered him in a faraway land. He got through the mountains smoothly, finding people who recognized his warhammer and lack of hair who showed him a convenient route through the Reaches. He passed through Veylan, a bustling rowdy town that was nothing to his liking, and continued eastwards for days, unsuccesfully seeking his god of strength. He spent a few weeks at the Temple of Sweat, a temple devoted to Wun, a moderately powerful god of wrestling, but soon found out this wasn't the one he was looking for.
After that, he headed northwards, to the ruins of old Korvald. Travelling through the mountains proved tough, so he took the road up to the tiny town of Oar's Rest, where the locals would supposedly be able to point him in the direction he wanted to go in. He arrived there last night, hoping to make his way through the mountains to the ruins of Issenkald, the old capitol of the Kingdom of Korvald, before it began to snow. The following morning, he was disappointed to find it had snowed that night, and he eats his breakfast wondering how he's gonna make his way to Issenkald through the snow, when he something happens that may change his life forever...
