Physical Description

Even with a small frame, Jesse's body is quite impressive from his years of physical training, making him a capable martial artist who can hold his own.

Body Features

All four of Jesse's limbs were crushed by a cave-in, and they were replaced with porcelain prostheses by the Artificer Guild. He can tinker with them at will.

Facial Features

Jesse is quite plain-looking and can easily fit into a crowd.

Identifying Characteristics

Without his regular long sleeves, gloves, and pants, Jesse's prosthetic limbs would make him easily identifiable, contrary to his plain appearance.

Apparel & Accessories

Atop Jesse's head is always the hairband his sister Amber gave him, as well as protective goggles on his forehead which are useful while tinkering with his prostheses. The fashionista Saskia Drakkenhild created the rest of his adventuring ensemble.

Mentality

Personal history

Jesse's brothers Jasper and Kenneth were the most adversarial to him as a child, jealous of the attention which his parents gave him. This was the main culprit to his lack of self-esteem. His sisters Amber and Beryl, even if they were closer to Jesse, often preferred to stay with their boyfriends and spent less time with him as a result. Only when Jesse's parents were physically present, his unruly brothers would stop pestering him.
Out of his four siblings, Jesse's closest relationship was with Amber, who would bring him refreshments after his training sessions. Her constant encouragement would be the confidence he needed to stand up to adversity, which spurred his heroic spirit at the marketplace.
After the marketplace incident, Jesse's brothers no longer saw him as the powerless child he used to be. It was after he fully recovered from his injuries that Jasper and Kenneth apologized for their behavior and began to reconcile their relationship as siblings. Although Jesse had a few years to mend the rift between them, his demeanor still persists as an emotional scar.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Before attending the University of Zauberschule, Jesse had proven his courage by standing up to the ringleader of a bandit gang before getting pummeled by them. Although this incident left him severely injured, he eventually made a full recovery and picked himself back up.
Later, in a coal mine accident, Jesse held up the entrance to a cave. This let several miners escape before he survived the cave-in, even if his limbs had to be amputated to be rescued.

Mental Trauma

As a result of his once-abrasive brothers Jasper and Kenneth, Jesse became rather reserved in personality, although he is starting to grow out of it. His first reaction to most social interactions is to act timid and skittish, but he can soon drop it after establishing common ground.

Intellectual Characteristics

Jesse obsessively writes about other people as well as encounters he experienced in the past, crystallizing information efficiently. He externalizes his observations through endless mumbling, a habit which can either creep out or amuse his peers.

Morality & Philosophy

Jesse believes that the greatest calling is to make the world a better place through his individual actions. As such, his main goal in life is to become a hero, not out of glory or material gain, but out of a sincere desire to help people in need.

Although Jesse is attracted to women (especially those he gets along with), he believes his unremarkable appearance betrays him when it comes to romance. As a result, he has given up on pursuing others, instead focusing on his own pursuit to become a heroic adventurer.

Motivation

Jesse's greatest motivation is to become a successful adventurer whose presence can put peoples' hearts at ease. After standing up to a gang of highwaymen in Petalithe's marketplace, Jesse became eager to perfect his martial arts and (after being caved in) his prostheses.

Jesse is a well-read individual who usually knows the scoop of the day. He uses this knowledge to make informed decisions in crucial moments, considering the social implications of his actions.

Vices & Personality flaws

Jesse's strong sense of self-sacrifice often puts him in harm's way, causing him to have lost his limbs. Although methodical in everyday life, Jesse has proven to be especially impulsive and reckless in crisis situations, caring little for the damage he sustains.

Jesse is in regular contact with the Artificer Guild. Between his heroic disposition and unquenchable curiosity, they supplied him with prosthetic limbs to replace what he had lost, even granting him a scholarship in the University of Zauberschule after proving his aptitude for weapons development. Jesse hopes to join their ranks one day.

Wealth & Financial state

Despite attending such a prestigious university, Jesse and his family have humble roots, performing menial jobs (including himself at one point) to get by in life. As such, he tends to be out of touch with higher class society (including his fashion choices).

Jesse puts more trust in the power of humanity than that of the gods; regardless, he respects divinity which advances the cause of good, and opposes those on the side of evil.
