Journal entry 1

Happy conception day to me. I suspect its not something lots of folk can say for themselves. Today is has become my tradition for the last few years, I am going to engage in something entirely new and different. I bid goodbye to my fellow druids who raised me. I told them I was off to Glimmerfell to sign up to the navy. One of them asked me why ever for? I told him star flowers and space and the chance to travel to different worlds and see new things. Once I got to ride on a small one briefly it was amazing and I can't wait to do it again and see the bigger ones in person. I was assigned up to the Arianrhods Pride a dreadnought class ship. She is absolutely beautiful. My fellow midshipmen seem to be a interesting lot I look forward to getting to know them. The ship has a what I consider large library. I have never seen so many books in one place before. Assigned to shadow Lieutenant Tremane a druid in the ships garden. His dad is a commander and chief druid. I did not get a chance to get a good look at the garden yet but I will tomorrow at first watch. One of my fellow midshipmen smoked a cigar in our quarters and we all got in trouble for it. Who knew it was against the rules not I but none of us said who did it to the Lt that showed up. I suspect from his manner that no matter what was happening in the Midshipman's quarters he would have found a way to assign us two weeks Latrine duty. I stayed up late to help since I was assigned to day watch. Going to be a long two weeks staying up late to do my share. I probably could have begged out of it but I didn't want to get off on the wrong foot with my fellow Midshipman after all I have five years with them. About half my fellows already seem to have experiences with life on board a ship. I am doing my best to emulate them.
