A Letter to Neema

I don’t know how to say the things I mean. You’ve seen the worst sides of me these past several days. I don’t know how I can ever fix that.
 
Maybe I should start over. I (scratch marks for a few lines)
 
I want you to be happy more than anything else. And safe. I thought I could be the one to give you those things, but I’m starting to realize no matter how I might try, my demons will follow me everywhere. Of course I can’t keep you safe, I AM the danger.
 
You were the only one who bothered to listen to my stories about Fetra and Nymph. Laughed when I told you the story about how Nymph took her first steps on the riverside… Perhaps I accidentally turned you into my emotional crutch. That was never fair to you, and I’m sorry. I know I can’t make up for all I’ve done, but I can make things better for you. And I will. I promise. I will make it up to you.
