The Forsaken City and The Weeping Poet

by Keeper of Currents Etera Manawanui

I would write this city's name down if I were not afraid that another would be able to follow our trail through my writings and discover this accursed place, so I believe The Forsaken City serves as a fitting name. We still have yet to hear anything real of this "poet" especially whether or not this "poet" is anything vaguely humanoid. Then we were interrupted by a large man claiming to be on the same quest as us under the name "Bo Rai". I don't truly trust him, but we outnumber him. The sound of sobbing emanated from the central tower. All of a sudden, the inquisitive one broke off down the way, and was harassed by what is apparently called by a "gnoll" who is apparently named Odam, but it seems to be rather friendly, providing us with accommodations and other things. Gave us some kind of smokable something that seemed comparable to red salt and explained this city to be cursed, and that we will only able to depart once we receive approval from The Weeping Poet and 5 leaders within the city. During the collapse, the city was the last of the Yuan Empire, and up until the end the poet fought off invading forces, and eventually a mountain was placed above the city. The people were divided into 5 factions, those cursed with undeath who have been here for 3000 years, the fae and archdruids, orcs and goblins who were invaders, standard mortals, and everybody else who are lead by a "lich". Demons and ghosts are bothering the fae, it seems we can help the ghosts rest or kill the demons. We ended up resolving things with the ghost more peacefully than I would have expected, and then got our first key from the druid leader. Now we have been asked by this "lich" to either kill some local adventurers or retrieve a pipe, I would rather do the latter than the former but we shall see I suppose.
