Barakat Saaiq

i understand idori
the infinity between all things
it is Your love.
 
Good God there is a war coming upon the lands
like the sandstorm that dims the horizon
You let me see it clear
 
the man before me was great and terrible
for his sins i know Your task ahead for me
and have no time to see it done
 
His terrible purpose is mine to redeem
to cause war’s end
before it begins
 
i must atone the men who bring war
as the Caliph feeds upon the land
i understand Your infinity
i have no enemies.
 
i long that sin brought me peace
to flee my own people - to gain wealth
and live my last months as
poyraz the uncaring cur
 
the great poets come to me
in this needful hour
“My companions reined in their mounts
don’t be a baby they said to me
take it like a man etcetera
 
But tears are my medicine
so where in these ruins is a place I can cry
 
O you long  long night
I want more light
a dawn without love is darkness on darkness”
 
to meet the impossible is my mission from You
i am Your servant
I am ready.
