Origin
Born: 1640 PA. In the Seidhean Dynasty, Born to two parents (Adrie and Soveliss Blank) With a brother (Arghant). She had a happy childhood. Her parents treated her well and she got along with her older brother, despite the age gap (4 years). Her family lived well enough, happy with their work and the company they provided each other regardless of their lower-class status. Sekt was a troublemaker from a young age, though not without a conscience. She would steal, only when it wouldn’t be harmful for others. Her parents were less than thrilled with her sticky fingers, but knew she was well-meaning.
Slavery Origins
Sekt broke into the home of a local in her village, hoping to find money and things of value to sell to keep her family out of debt. While breaking in, she discovered the tenant of the house, a former adventurer, in bed with the daughter of a local high elf noble. She made out before being noticed. She latersold this information to a black market broker, where it eventually reached back to the adventurer and the noble, infuriating the adventurer. Using a close connection between the two, the noble and adventurer set out to find the source of the leak, the oath finally leading to Sekt. The adventurer, now an advisor for that high elf noble, pulled some strings and was able to push Sekt’s family into slavery, no one looking the other way due to their lower class status. Sekt and her parents were forced into slavery seperately, with Sekt being placed in the noble Mazhar Ender’s manor to allow for a more personal revenge/ message. Sekt’s brother, Arghant, was away at the time trying to further his talents in the arcane at colleges across the world.
Slavery Cont.
Sekt was placed as a servant within the manor, tending to the needs of the noble or face punishment. Sekt revolted constantly at first, before learning to silence her anger. She was educated in the arcane, as per the other servants within the manor, to aid in her service. She had been enslaved for around 3 years when Kalahmet himself became a servant, an act of repayment of a major debt of some sort he had accrued. He told Sekt of his life, traveling the nations, doing what he pleased. Sekt revelled in the tales he told of his many misadventures. He talked to her of his sticky fingers, a trait which Sekt was all too aware of. He took her under his wing, teaching her thief skills This went on for a short while, until eventually talk of escape came up. Sekt had tried once or twice early on, but had given up hope soon after due to the failures and the lashes that came from it. Kalahmet encouraged her the only way out would be to kill the noble and the advisor in the night, then flee into the countryside. Sekt, despite her assassin-like skill set, had never killed (let alone harmed) another person before. She eventually worked up the courage to enter his chamber in the night brandishing a knife. She was having second thoughts, before channelling the anger and rage in her to commit the murder and flee with Kalahmet into the night.
The Gang
Sekt and Kalahmet were alone at first, traveling the country and putting their thievery skills to use. It was upon arriving in location that they met Muunokhoi, a female orc that quickly became friends with Sekt. Liking the “cut of their jib”, Muunokhoi joined them as they continued eastward. They eventually settled down in an old, abandoned theater outside of Waterfowl, where Kalahmet proposed the idea of the gang.
Relationships
Sekt was close to many members of the gang, the outliers being Farahkt, Kalahmet, and Muunokhoi. Sekt is close friends with Muunokhoi, both being similar in personality and interests. Sekt despised Farahkt, though not outwardly obvious. This is in turn due to Sekt’s hatred of Elves, as well as her belief that Fara sold the gang out, causing the last heist to go dodgy. As with Kalahmet, she feels a special bond with him. Unlike with the other gang member (friend-ish), Kalahmet was the first person she was able to share a bond with after being enslaved.
Religion
Sekt, as a child, worshipped the Zodiacs the same as her family. She was never extremely devout, only offering a prayer every now and then, unlike her father and brother. After being enslaved, she lost her devoutness, seeing no help from those she worshipped. After her breakout, Kalahmet introduced her to the Amirinthians. With his guidance, she began to study them, becoming vested slowly in their beliefs. She remains not as in touch with her religious side as she was as a child, but does still offer a prayer of sorts every now and then.
The Battle
While out on a job, the group was found by a group of bounty hunters who had been on their trail, headed up by A gnomish leader. They engaged in battle, with the gang having the upper hand. They were able to kill most of them, but the gnome (Salver) injured Sekt, shattering her left arm, and escaped with his life.
The Heist
Sekt despised Farahkt this internally and has complained about having an elf in their group to Kalahmet, but he is much more understanding than her. The group descends on the night, their target a docked ship in Waterfowl reportedly belonging to a Dwarvish lord currently in town. Sekt stays behind, still recovering from her wound. During the heist, the group is caught in an ambush, the advisor there ready for vengeance. Having been clearly sold out by someone within the group, they successfully escape using Cinnust’s magic.
The Comet
During the heist gone wrong, Sekt hangs around the hangout. At some point, she takes to the roof to watch the skyline, having been “enticed” to look at it. While doing so, a crimson red light, star-like in nature. streaks across the sky in front of Sekt, an omen of something to come. After witnessing this omen, Sekt hears banging below from within the hideout. Looking stealthily, she see combatants in orange clothing (those seen at the battle) bearing down the doors, searching the place. Having had Kalahmet run a drill in case this should happen, Sekt escapes into the night, laying low and waiting for contact from Kalahmet.
The Aftermath
Sekt eventually received a letter from Kalahmet, coded and written in Infernal. It said that they had been found out, and escaped town. From there, it was only days later until they had been found out again. One way or another, they were being tracked. He further said he would keep the rest of the gang on the move, seperated from Sekt until he figured out how, so as to not drag her into trouble as well. This began a series of back and forth letters between the two, usually just a relay of their location, where they were next headed, and other simple conversation.
The Ship
Through the Wither Orchard Thieves' Guild, Sekt learned her parents were alive, and in the Seidhean Dynasty. Against the wishes of Kalahmet, she snuck aboard a passenger ship to find her parents. Somehow, the men in orange tracked her there, forcing her to flee.
The Colony
Almost a year (8 or 9 months) afterwards, Sekt received a letter with something new: info about her family. She had been trying to make contact with any member of her family over the past year, but hadn’t found a lead. Kalahmet wrote he had heard rumors of someone resembling her brother heading down towards Jianden. Taking the opportunity, Sekt headed to a small colony within the continent quickly, leading to her introduction to the campaign.
