The Quest for Chad, An account by Tallion

by Tallion Goatlover

Upon a star-light morning I finished my meditations in the graveyard and embarked to the meeting point of our newest expedition. Me, Nongo and Rurik had decided a day prior to recover the body of Nongo's fallen ally, Chad Boswick and after gathering some holy water and some other miscellaneous supplies we departed town and into the Ghost Coast. After half a day of travel we found a wrecked boat on the beach with a crate of spilled gold upon the shore. As Rurik attempted to fish the crate to him three shark-like humanoids emerged from the water and charged us, we were able to kill them after a close and bloody fight only to discover the majority of the treasure was fool's gold. We continued traveling until sundown were we made a camp on a cliffside, unfortunately we were ambushed by ghouls in the night, fortunately we dispatched them in an incredible display of teamwork and skill and were left unmolested for the rest of the night. Upon our second day of travel we made it to the beached shipwreck to discover that Chad's body was no longer upon the rocks. Upon further investigation we heard movement from within the ship's lower decks. Delving into the leaking coffin we made it down to the storage area to discover that Chad had been raised into a Ghastly Chad by necromantic forces and he was accompanied by several zombies. Nongo's shield did not fail him as he held the hoard back as myself and Rurik rained consecrated arrows upon them. After the waves settled there was not an undead left standing and we were no fewer in number. Most of the ship's cargo had long been ruined, but Rurik uncovered a ghastly secret as he had found a secret cargo space were 30 coffins lay. Each coffin was eerily empty as what is happening in the Ghost Coast is now unmistakably the work of a vile necromancer. We then departed the vessel and returned to Fairhaven, there we gave the brave soul Chad his overdue respects and, if only for a moment, the world seemed a better place for our noble efforts.
