.I was sent on many different missions, cleaning up the streets, helping families with their crops, killing the occasional greedy noble, etc. But one day, I retrieved a very peculiar letter. The letter was given to me by messenger hawk, and all it said was “Follow the offer.” and it was sent from the Blood Ruler!
I didn’t know at first what this meant, but during our training, they taught us that we were free from any other missions if we received a letter from the Blood Ruler, and that it was our goal to finish the task he bestowed upon us. I took back to the safe house, greeted my dark gray horse named Willow of the Wisp, or Wisp for short, pet my dog named Blood Bark. I showed the letter to Ezra, and he told me that he might have an idea for what it could mean.
He told me that only a fortnight ago, he saw a poster advertising the need for skilled combatants and mercenaries, and that the coin would be too good to be true. He said that when he saw it, he felt something odd about, not for any reason, just a gut feeling. He told me where I had to go to meet, and I set out at dawn. It was a shanty old building on the docks, windows open and various plants growing on the walls.
I entered and saw that it was a pretty empty house, with a small desk and an average heighted man standing behind it. He welcomed me with a wide smile, and told me to take a seat. I sat down and he began to tell me that he was looking for a man with great honor, a man with skills unmatched, and a man who would laugh in the face of defeat! He told me that I was this man he was looking for, even before he said anything he could see the strength and determination in my eye, even if it was only one. He told me that for what I was doing, I would be paid handsomely, with about 130 gold to add to my account.
Secretly I knew that the money didn’t matter, since this was what I was assigned to do by the Blood Ruler, but it was very generous nonetheless. He gave me a date and set me off, I took a big breath as I walked out, took Blood Bark with me, and set out on my adventure.
