Session 4

by Kiaral Vadania

Inside, Harbek and Kriv'n question Ilyana while I wait outside with the cat for Farlin. They learn that tonight is a very popular day/night at the
Silk Scabbard, and will be much busier than usual. [water damage] mention [water damage] lk [water damage] is. All [water damage] with Iskra [water damage] don't even know [water damage] going to be difficult. The boys want to create a distraction, but I'm pretty sure we don't need one.

It's even more crowded than I expected - nearly impossible to move, and so loud I can't hear myself think. I'd hate to be here tonight, when it gets busy. I can't see Filipa, and all the courtesans I can see are extremely busy. I signal Farlin that I need some help; he pretends he's drunk as he approaches Kriv'n, angling for introductions or something. I have no idea what to do now ... without talking to anyone myself, that is.

Kriv'n manages to locate Iskra - on Sergeant Hendryk's lap. This complicates things. Harbek managed to get himself a job tending bar; I forbid Kriv'n from involving Harbek in the distraction. We can use both the money and the contacts.

Farlin approaches Hendryk and says something I can't quite make out. They exchange some words, then Farlin moves off while Hendryk stays put. Farlin circles back and must have cast a spell or something because people start to scatter. I manage to grab Iskra and get her attention with Ilyana's name, putting her on guard until I use the passphrase from Grigori. She takes me back to her room.

Iskra demands an explanation, and I keep it short: "Ilyana stole something and stashed it in your room. I'm here to retrieve it." I ask for the cloak Ilyana left, then awkwardly take my leave. My plan is to round up the boys and get out without being noticed.

Kriv'n is right outside the private rooms, trying to figure out which door I went through. Harbek is still tending bar; I signal to him that we're done; Farlin is harder to locate, so I head outside to think. There's a fog cloud on the sidewalk; I'm sure Farlin's around somewhere. I head back toward the temple where we left Ilyana.
