SESSION 1 - RECAP

Qwest? Qwest!!: What's this? Some newbies who have joined the Black Claws? Luckily for you I have a task just for you! Adventure for 3-4 lvl 1-2 players. A local copper mine has had an unfortunate ooze leak, some poor miner hit a nest and they've now taken over parts of the mine. You will need to go in there and clear them out.

RECAP:
 
The group first met at the Drunken Flea, a cheap tavern in Ragged Bend. We didn’t have papers to enter the local chapter house so we were told to meet Cookie Beans, a local Black Claw chapter leader, with scars, scales and one grey eye.
We wait.
 
The group find out that Tosl found his powers recently. We meet Talia a boozy and short and wearing a used-to-be-bright purple coat. We meet Rontar a character who has a propensity for getting lost in snow and sand storms. We meet Urbain, servant of Selune and vanquisher of foul spirits. We meet Zug, who loves his sword and his brother.
 
Cookie arrives and tells us the information. The contract is courtesy of one Seraphine Sapphire Whistle, who owns a nearby mine. She received the copper claims from a prospector on the cheap - now we know why - the mine is full of oozes. She wants the miners to go back to work. The group are told to go to Steepletop Claim - east from Ragged Bend, find the mine, clear the ooze and come back. Cookie offers us 20GP each and access to the local BC chapter house if we succeed.
 
“Put it away Zug!” happens a few times. On the way, Talia shows off her water explosion tricks. Talia gives Zug a drink of her mead. The two get on well. Zug tells Talia he likes her coat.
 
After a short while travelling, the group come across a group who look to be miners. One introduces himself as Eric: grey miner. He told us the story about Kevin, a fellow miner who cracked a stone and an ooze fell out on top of him. We also meet Debbie Divorien, a 100 years old woman and chatted about her underclothes (for some unknown reason). We have a 40 minute walk further to the mine - jovially chatting about Shirty Debbie all the way. We found out that Rontar follows a forge god Onatar, but recently has relaxed in his worship.
 
The group arrive at a makeshift mining site: Steepletop Claim. There is a sign that reads “Belongs to Steepletop Mining Industry” with a “SOLD” sign beside. They clearly left in a rush - there are things strewn all over the site. Tents abandoned, and a false bottom chest. Urbain shouts at Zug and Talia that we are on agency business and that Zug and Talia should behave and continue with the objective. Pebbles fall from above. Talia sets off a lightning trap, by mistake. Despite this, Talia finds a journal and some underwear. The journal tells how much money Debbie makes - and how much she has in the bank - that she hates her coworkers and hates Steepletop. She likes Seraphina. Talia finds letters to another dwarf called Erin (a friend who wants to prospect together when they have enough money).
 
The group find a mine elevator. Zug rolls a 19 intelligence check: he knows how this bad boy works. At the bottom, there is an ooze in clear view. Zug rushes in, without second thought, slicing the ooze, fighting as a fighter should. The creature is leaking fluid… Roll initiative!
 
Urbain and Rontar rain down sacred flame. Light is cast on Zug’s shield, he is very happy. Zug’s greatsword Samantha is corroded and damaged -1 and he shouts “my beautiful sword” in pain. Urbain blesses everyone excepts for Talia - who believes she deserves a second chance…
 
A brief pause after fighting the first ooze and then further down in the chamber… roll initiative! Rontar casts more Sacred Flame. Zug jumps around the side, hurdling some barrels and pushes the ooze over prone (somehow). Tosl casts Mind Sliver, it is very naughty and kills the ooze. There is a permanent debuff to Zug’s greatsword Samantha of -2 (sad times).
 
After the second fight, Zug and Talia drink straight from the barrel of some nearby booze (like Mallory, because it’s there). It is strong. The Clerics of the Forge hate Communists! Zug hits Urbain with a rock in the back of the head by mistake and does 12% damage (3HP). Urbain is not best pleased.
 
Further down the mine, there is a third fight. Roll initiative! Talia moves up and triggers enemies and casts Eldritch Blast. Zug NAT 1 to attack and fails furiously… Tosl casts Chill Touch necrotic damage, there is a sudden loss of viscosity and the ooze turns to liquid. The ooze attacks and misses Zug like a gladiator pinned in the corner. Urbain casts 1 radiant damage with sacred flame. Talia does 1 damage with Eldritch Blast. Zug’s greatsword Samantha is now a -3, he kills the ooze and puts the weapon away. Rontar is hit by another ooze. The group sees a dead body! Is it Kevin?! Shit it’s Kevin. Talia casts Eldritch Blast and does 10 damage. Zug runs up the stairs and throws the ooze over the edge, jumping down after it, he hears the crowd roar… Tosl Mind Slivers again to great effect. Zug’s armour is now taking a beating -1 AC. Rontar casts sacred flame and as a bronze Dragonborn uses lightning to do some gnarly bizniz. Told spell sniper Mind Sliver. Unbelievable scenes! Zug’s handaxe is ruined! His chain mail is in ruins. Zug is armouries and weaponless but the group killed x6 oozes!
 
After the fight… Revo rolls a Nat20(!!) and finds an ancient storage room there are jars with their lids smashed in - “Danger Ooze” written on the side… It turns out Kevin smashed them open because they were a cool colour.
 
In disgust at the absurdity of the situation and the damage to his equipment, Zug throws his greatsword Samantha away and takes a drink from Talia. Rontar recovers Zug’s sword Samantha (unbeknownst to him)
 
There are stealth checks rolled when getting home: but Urbain doesn’t stealth because it is ungodly. Urbain thinks there is something about the chest that Talia is concealing - there is a conversation about stealing but all calms down eventually. Back at the saloon, Cookie is waiting at the tables. The contract is complete! The group receive our gold and are granted access to the Black Hand headquarters in Ragged Bend - time for a drink! We meet Olaf the bartender.
