The Fall

“Wooow Lillith. I didn’t think she’d get all snivelly and teary eyed. ” The raven haired angel, Glimmer drawled, as she let go her prey’s robes in a half push. Letting the small figure tumble back into the mud puddle. The tiny cherb continued to cry, clearing pale paths of tears down her dirt stained cheeks.
 
Sitting as proud as any queen, Lillith unfolded her long legs and recrossed them in indifference as she rested on the risers. Her seat literally above all she surveyed below. Her delicate slim fingers folded under her chin, as she crooked her swan like neck to better gaze at the pitiful scene before her.
 
It was a dazzling Autumn day in their realm. Like every other day, the nature and buildings around them defined elegance and allure. The wind blew just enough to spread the scent of cinnamon and pine, while the trees erupted in sunset shades of yellows, oranges and reds. The temple, academy halls and town were all made of marble and glass, which glittered as radiant as their citizens. Most of the time.
 
“Tinsel, please.” Lillith purred, running her hand through her pale blond - almost silver locks and tossing it over her shoulder. “This is unbecoming. This is my lady Sune’s temple garden. You can’t just go around like… that.” She waved over the girl’s whole being with a dismissive hand.
 
The snickers of the other angels, Glimmer, Ruby, Gloss and Nova ring out as they pull away from the younger girl. They lined up like soldiers to each side of the sobbing apprentice, looking up to their leader and waiting for orders.
 
Pulling up her knee to rest under her chin, Lillith tutted a few times. It was barely over the sobs, but that disapproving sound was enough to get the cherub to calm down. Or at least cry less noisily. Lillith continued to peer over Tinsel, her brilliantly cornflower blue eyes cold and hard as iced flint.
 
“I am the third lady-in-waiting to Lady Sune herself.” Lillith stated simply, almost in passing.
