To Gather a Crystal

Amon was, for all his blathering, helpful. Although he appears to know little about the cause of the Festering - and I must admit, I too am at a loss - he at least provided an alternative to working with Callum. The merchant is hardly the worst of them, and he's as easy to manage when it comes down to it as all men are, but he can be unpredictable at times. Unpredictability can be dangerous.
 
The sooner we make acquaintance with Zarak'el, the sooner I can rectify this business and continue with my daily tasks free of worry that the fabric of the ship being is coming apart at the seams like a store-bought dress. The captain has become suspicious that this may not be something I can handle, and his visit to my quarters has unnerved me. I haven't found what I'm looking for just yet, departing would set me back immeasurably. The captain's trust in me has been hard-won, and I won't let this set me back.
 
What does this dragon like best, I wonder? Gold? Gems? Comely things that are warm to the touch? No matter, I'll find it for him
