Alfonse looked around at the motley group he'd found himself with here in the mists. This was not at all what he had expected when he set out this morning to catch the monsters that were harassing his village and people. The goblin started pilfering silverware, which prompted Alfonse to look around for something to help in bullet construction. He'd taken 7 shots already, and missed every one, so it's pretty apparent he's going to have to use his smithing skills at some point if he wants to stay armed. Looking around the dining room area, he found there wasn't much the goblin hadn't already grabbed, but he did manage to secure a pewter goblet, which he stashed in his pack. Simon, the strange human, wanted to go look at some more books to try to get a sense of the monster we were chasing in this house. Alfonse stood by and kept watch as Simon perused the books, and when his curiosity was satisfied the crew headed back upstairs to try to find some way into the basement.
After thoroughly searching the 3rd and 4th floors, and dispatching that unruly broom that had been previously trapped in the closet, a passage was finally discovered by breaking down a wall to reveal a circular staircase leading all the way directly to the basement. Stepping into the dark chambers below, Alfonse's ears were filled with the sound of some kind of rhythmic chanting echoing off the walls from.... somewhere, it was hard to determine from where. In these halls were found several crypts for the Durst family, including two crypts that looked as if they had been opened from the inside - one marked as Walter, and the other unmarked (presumably the nurse). Several living chambers were found, some with basic sleeping bunks, some with actual beds and chests for a more cozy living experience. They were also attacked by several creatures, and when they discovered the two statues, a man standing tall, presumably with his son beside him, they were ambushed again.
Feeling the strain of combat at this point, the group retraced their steps back to the better sleeping area. Alfonse laid some traps at one entrance, while Tentacles (Ace-ig-var?) stood guard at the other door, and everyone got in a little rest.
