We set camp a little ways away from the site of the deranged axebeak attack, and the light of our fire attracted a traveler from the road. Tourmaline, a very small and cheerful woman, rides a clawfoot whom she calls Bunny. She joined us at our campfire, and I got to introduce Verst to his first other acquaintance. I was very cautious with this new person, but overall she seems not to be too untrustworthy. She helped me teach Verst about music, and she is a fine musician. After a little while, we noticed a large number of spiders, watching us from the forest floor and canopy. I spoke to them, and they told me they were watching us on behalf of the Weaver.
A strange man appeared in a bush near us, and invited himself to our fire. I do not like Silas. I don't think he's a dentist at all, and I'm not letting him near my mouth, or Verst's. He told us the Weaver was a friend of his, and asked us to leave the woods. I didn't want to, but Tourmaline did, and Verst and I had a discussion that ended up with us leaving with our two new acquaintances. All of us are going the direction of Deadplains, but I don't think we're going together. I'm not going anywhere with Silas unless I have to.
