Stardate: session one

Comparatively low stress day for what the mission briefing suggested.

We got shot at, once, by a derelict ship of two hundred thousands years when it didn't recognize our comms, then landed our shuttle and beamed in without problems. Strange that the shields didn't work but fortunate. Ship is upriver of a pre-tech settlement, long faces, hard to disguise. No breathable atmosphere away from single river. All hacking attempts failed. Crew beamed into ship and discovered strange snailbat (name pending) being bred? manufacture? within, and I went back to shuttle to build containment for live snailbat. Sample collected of dust sample that likely contains DNA from builder race, though tricorder got no useful data. Team volunteered to passively investigate village. Many arguments about prime directive, tiring but if we didn't have any thoughts of prime directive I would not trust these people to be in the same fleet, let alone away team.
