Backstory

Born to a notorious pirate and a local courtesan, Jib was raised in a port brothel called The Twisted Knickers. to earn his keep he was taught how to cook in the tavern's kitchen. His young mind did wander from time to time, and he found himself aiding the towns cleric in his spare time. Quickly he found a natural affinity with connecting with the divine to aid or hinder others, but his cleric friend did impart the wisdom to search for undead for when they needed to tend the older gravesites. for years he practiced the arts of cuisine and prayer until he was old enough for his father to bring him aboard the Seventh Sin. His role on the ship began as that of any other crewmember, a lowly deckhand, but his ability to heal soon gave him another role. Despite the time he spent aiding the crew giving guidance believed to be wrought from the divine and granting the many who perished at sea their final rites, he also found time again to return to his passion of cooking within the ship's galley alongside master Dorton Hemsay. It would be Dorton who eventually told Jib that to truly master the culinary arts he would need to seek out rare ingredients and build his own recipes with the aid of masters of the craft. It would be this passion that pushed Jib to eventually embark into to the life of an adventurer in the hopes he might obtain rare cuts of meat and harvest interesting spices to become a master chef and earn his own chef's coat.
