The Kaiser

by Uzab

Week 1:

I find myself following the paying gigs once again in the Aarokrocan empire. A place I’ve increasingly become interested in. A quite powerful empire, though not as much as it used to be. After playing for some coin, I skulked around the keep and as luck would have it, saw some of the same guards in a local pub the following evening. Not a well disciplined force…. This empires military certainly isn’t as impenetrable as they would like to seem. I found that through using the appropriate face, physique, charms, drink and tunes from the Zither I can incapacitate a guard thoroughly. So, I did. The next morning he slept in through his shift just as planned, while I donned his armor and assumed his face and features. Surely he wouldn’t need them when he slept so happily. Again, this worked flawlessly. A few odd glances at my fumbling for appropriate passwords were attributed to his hangover, which all the guards seemed to accept as a trait of his. As luck would have it I was able to get close enough to the Kaiser to see his face and noticed his personal guard retinue. All other guards weren’t permitted to bother him. Not quite so daft yet Flashbeak? Or maybe you are paranoid? Either way, I must find a way into that retinue next.

Week 2:

The Kaisers retinue proved much more difficult to penetrate. There are definitely hardened veterans here still, though in short supply perhaps. One thing is certain, they must be eunuchs or ascetics… They seem to have no vices or are resistant to my subtle (and verbose) charms. I toyed with the idea of using a more potent spell. But, what would they do if I was revealed? I considered following one home and simply killing them… But is that how I am to be known? Is that how it all starts? With violence? No, there must be another way… Perhaps if I made a distraction, just to get closer…
