What can I say. These last few days have beem tough. Not only have my new friends (the big singing brute and pale as death age changer) used fire to summon some form of most likely non firendly entity from the lower planes (seriously i thought were done with those), but we also managed to sail straight into a crew shipwrecked on a small islet. As the good servant of the people I am I suggested we rescue them. Getting closer they however yelled for us to stay away. Almost immediately our smaller craft was rocked by something huge at what point big singing brute started rowing us back to the Mermaid. Upon returning and submerging (seriously more ships ought to be able to do that! So convinient!) we were greeted by the largest eyes and head I've ever seen (honestly, the head was the size of our entire ship).
The others now began doubting their intent to save the poor souls on the islet. Cowards! Unperturbed I did what any truly good and well meaning man would. I turned into a dragon and swam over to them. The Big eyes Huge head thing gave chase at speed but for some reason suddenly lagged behind (or I became faster, that sounds better!) Reaching the islet I was hailed as Worwason. For the first time in a long time I felt truly honoured (Me being mixed up with one of the true beings of goodness i've meet, what a day). I sadly had to correct their mistake by returning to my normal form and sending them away from danger. I thought about sending them to Rivenjing (all people should see that place sometime!) Since quite a few were of the punier human kind though i refrained (my people can sometimes look upon the weaker races with contempt resulting one or two accidentally lost heads, such things happen) instead sending them to Zarastil with a greating to the King. That will be fun!
Before leaving one of the shipwrecked gave me the reason for their travels, to explore an old temple, as well as a map to reach it. Returning to the mermaid I magnanimously shared the map, convincing the party to make a detour on Jeans "not at all top secret mission" that she refuses to tell anybody about for reasons that are "not at all because it's a top secret mission" (I ought really to sneak into her chambers and look through some pappers, for the good of the crew of course). After looking at Big eyes Huge head one last time (on second though more ships going below the waves might not be such a good idea) we lost it in the shallows (the downside of being the size of a mountain became obvious) and swiflty (pun intentend) went to the sight of the temple.
After the party landed I was convinced by Jean to do some scouting due to my obvious qualification of being able to turn into other things. Turning into a seagull however proved to be unwise. Having only turned into creatures of similar intellect I was not aware of the cognitive shifts caused by such shape shifting. Turns out seagulls aren't very smart. It also turns out that they are very good at fishing (I can still feel the taste...). We have now decided to hike to the temple tomorrow. I am starting to feel that perhaps I am bad at learning. Several times in the last months I've found myself in deep dark places more often than not with my life at stake. An under water temple filled with brain eaters, Abbadon, cave with stinky worm thing (rude to just eat people alive, at least kill them first!), in the depths with Big eye Huge head and most scary of them all, Timmies basement dorm (how in the name of heaven did they get that place so dirty???). Tomorrow we are going into a deep dark jungle to visit a deep dark temple. If my luck holds I will soon be in the fight of my life, again (I will of course win, but still). I just can't seem to learn. Or perhaps I'm drawn to the lingering evil in these places, what do i know. And in the off chance that someone else finds this (which you won't), I'm dead (becasue I'm not). Look through my bag and please take care of the hens. The large brown one is Wāndòu and the smaller darker one is Xiédài de. Most likely they will have tired of eating oranges.
