UNAUTHORISED READING WILL BE MET WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE
And so the insane normalcy of the adventurer's life rears its ridiculous head again. Yesterday, I accompanied the crew of the Sara Militant, by coincidence, as they were led by Mr. Fontus to Concord Erudition. I elected to not only walk with them, but to speak with the curious entourage, consisting of: Asterion, Damocles, and Epimetheus.* Together, they reminded me of the people from the wild rumours coming from Zenobia, which, as happenstance would have it, they also turned out to be. I must remark that the tavern tales were KINETICALLY EXAGGERATED. Well, in the physical sense. The people of the Sara Militant mostly exhibit the same traits as the group I encountered in Hercules. Asterion is headstrong, stubborn, and naturally attractive to sailor-types. Damocles is arrogant, clever, and a walking international incident. Epimetheus is thick-headed, single-minded, and an open enigma: parts of his personality could be an ingenious ploy, as he demonstrates exceptional ability with technological/magical constructs. They were interviewed by Juno, whereupon I requested permission to travel with them in my capacity as Concord Victoria. Due to Incident AD/FRA # K/1, I wanted, and still want to, earn the Sara Militant's trust, or at the very least, acceptance, so I insisted on Asterion conducting a formal admission. Translated from sailor terminology, this amounted to: "Can you kill? If so, welcome to our floating poison pill!" (Note to self: still need to work on the poetry.) In the end, of the same day, my admission was supplanted by a battle against an M-type-II natural aberration. Because Epimetheus's son was involved. If anything, I must conclude that the adventuring life attracts the suicidal, the reckless, the desperate; on the Sara Militant, all are welcome! Except anyone who displays basic literacy and who employs reason in judgement. The dead do not claim riches.
The events of today are what led to the aforementioned conclusion. Epimetheus's son and his friends had been manipulated by an H-type-D/F non-physical entity into giving up their souls. A diplomatic game of perseverance, one-upping, and bickering ensued. I attempted to minimise loss of life; either outcome would invariably result in death. Understandably, though regrettably, Epimetheus did not see it that way. The Sara Militant, spearheaded by Damocles, wished to fight the entity, and provoked it numerous times. Ultimately, Epimetheus unilaterally signed a contract with the entity. I will spend the night searching for any loopholes in this unnatural covenant.
On another note, Damocles is allegedly a diplomat, though the ink of his papers was barely dry when I inspected them. And he eschews the usage of a personal crest! How daring. I suppose the need for formality comes secondary when you are a SON OF HEAVEN, used to GETTING MY WILL DONE. Further, it is not difficult to see why Asterion was made OF-V of Sara Militant. He is surprisingly level-headed, and even engaged the entity in a contractual debate. Sadly, he seems to have missed a course or two in extradimensional law. I certainly did. Finally, Epimetheus made some coded suggestions. I wish the situation with his son averts that attention. If not, I will implement the CADUCEUS PROTOCOL. Again.
*Personal reminder: codes are adjudicatorially determined after SRS Cultural Remnant Codex M/H.
Word of the day: RESIGNATION. Self-explanatory.
