Cooking with Gorm: Rabbit Stew

by Gorm Hamundsson

For the Stew:

1 whole rabbit (about 3 pounds), cut up
1 cup chopped celery
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 dash of ground black pepper
1 bay leaf
4 cups water
2 cups diced carrots
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
4 ounces mushrooms
1/3 cup cold water
(other favorite vegetables can be used instead of the existing ones)

Steps to make a Rabbit Stew

1. Gather your ingredients and wash them properly.
2. Cook the Rabbit until its color changes to light brown.
3. Toss the Rabbit into a pot, add the celery, onions, bay leaf and seasoning and let it rest for about 40 minutes.
4. Add the carrots, potatoes and mushrooms, let it boil for 30 more minutes, stirring the stew every few minutes.
5. When the broth reaches desirable thickness, remove from the fire, serve it to the guests and enjoy.
