October 4, 1987: Sabrina

by The Crow, The Raven (Anselm's Crow/Raven) Anarcthine Lucid

Tall and tan, Sabrina stood with her back against the brick wall of the liquor, Bottled Paradise. The night was cool, chilling, but if she wanted to attract customers she couldn't afford to care for covering up. She kept the jean skirt loose around her hips and tight around her thighs, and only allowed a worn out sweater to keep her warm over her cropped tank top. It was a pathetic attempt, really, but she just wanted to ease the shiver in her shoulders and sooth the mumbing ache in her hands.
The dark blue fabric of the sweater sagged around her forearm like little bells due to how often she had to stretch them over her hands like tonight, holding them cupped to her lips and blowing hot air into them.
Hot air that escaped her hands swirled in the air and dissipated in their ghostly manner - she wanted to leavs with them. She spent so many nights watching in envy as the heat left, but she stayed assigned to this cursed corner.
'Maybe it wouldn't suck such cock muck if Carol were here,' she puffs her cheeks just a slight bit as she stuffs her fists into her coat, her hand a shock to her exposed sides.
The jingle of the store's door breaks the silence, ending the night's streak of silent hours. A man steps out, having been in there for about the past hour, 'probably talking to Leo.'
He takes the two steps down to stand beside her, sluching, too, against the bricks. He nudges towards her a beer, one of the only two he brought out.
She let's her hand slip from her side and grasps onto the bottle's neck, taking up on the man's offer. That's when she finally takes note:
The bottle is already open.
'Well no way I'll be drinking this shit, not even in two shits time.'
"How long you been out here for?" The man finally speaks, his voice pretty average as it isn't the deepest voice Sabrina has heard. "Kinda chilly, ain't it, to not be wearing a warmer coat."
She finally looks up towards him to find him looking down towards her, though not much of a difference being as tall as she is.
"Not much of a choice I got here, bills need to be paid and I need to get food somehow," she continues to swirl the beer in her hand, never bringing it any closer.
The man gives huff and lifts the corner of his mouth fartheest from her and she gives a short giggle, 'Now just say what you need so I can go home, wasting my time, you damn-'
"Come home with me, spend the night and I'll even give ya breakfast." He leans in closer with his right shoulder, trying to nudge her playfully. She's up off the wall before he can make actual contact and already taking a step back.
"I don't do stayovers - either pay to fuck and leave, or just walk away right now." She kneels down to place the bottle by him, "If you stay here you'll drive other men away, so come back another night if-"
A bottle comes bashing the back of her skull. She can hear the itty bits of glass and shards twinkle when they hit the sudewalk, she can feel the chill of a shiver follow as the beer runs through her hair. Maybe some blood, too, she thinks definitely.
'Fuck! I can't pay for any infection shit!' She slumps onto her knees and slumos her shoulders supporting herself on her palms, she can feels the surrounding shards dig into the soft flesh of her palms and ram sharp into her knees.
Red lights flash as fear sets in, 'Carol! - I need to get to her! -'
She opens her mouth to scream out for her friend and begins to push up to run, but she feels the shoe connect to her face before she realizes she was struck again.
"An ungrateful whore like you doesn't get to reject a kind man's gift," he crouches in front of her and pinches her jaw within his right hand, squishing her face till her lips full out and her teeth dig into the gums of inner cheeks.
"Now we /are/ spending the night, that wasn't a request." He shakes her face as he gives another huff of a laugh, "Someone didn't teach you right, didn't teach you how to be an obedient slut." He finally releases her face and grips her shoulder from her pit forcing her to stand. She still wobbles and has no control over his pull on her, bring ing her close. With his right arm he hooks it under her other shoulder but brings this hand to cup her mouth.
"But that's all forgiven now, cause I'm gonna take of you now, gonna teach you right." He whispers the promise into her ear and seals it with a kiss to her ear causing her to gag and recoil. She weakly brings her left fist to beat against his cheat, if only to make it clear how much she doesn't want this. How scared she is, how she would never wilingly giver her body to him.
It doesn't stop him from bringing her into the alleyway just a building down from the liquor store but still farther from Carol nonetheless.
She feels herself gain a little inch of stability as the spinning world stills just a little bit, so she pulls her arms up and close to her, hopping to unhook from his grasp and slip from under him.
He feels her resistance and digs his fingers into the inner bend of her left arm before she can get loose, using his right hand to shoot closer from her shoulder to her throat before she can slip it free.
"Arrgh - Let me go!" She chokes are, her voice thick with the sobs she struggles to hold back. Her legs begin to feel weak as she prepares for defeat, and hopefully death.
"I - ahh! - /don't/ want this, you fucking sick cre-" Her retorts are cut off by the impact her body makes with the asphalt, forcing the air through her throat and a pained grunt.
"Just /shut up/! You don't know shit, that's why you ended up the whore ya are!" He demands as he whips out his knife and flicks it open. "That's why ya don't know a good man when ya see one: I'm offering a /home/." He finishes exasparated, breathless like he's amazed by himself and his generosity.
She gives into the weight of her body, tired and aching. Hoping she can lose herself in the drumming of of her beating head, she stares upward at the sky cursing every and any god out there who decised she wasn't worth saving.
Her heart skips violently for the second she catches hair swisping over the rooftop then gone.
'Someone - pleae don't leave me!' Her eyes struggle to stay clear as tears spring up and flow over as she chokes out a sob. She gasps as she spots the head peak back over, eyes glowing eery and cool. All she can see is the misshappen figure of a long hair firgure as shapes pretrude from their face and neck, their silhouette drawn sharp in the moon light.
The figure steps calmly from the buildings rooftop with their arms stretched out.
'They /jumped/! What the hell is this person on!' Her eyes widen as she raises herself to her shoulders, watching in suspense as the figure falls closer and close towards the creep and her.
"Now don't cry, everything is gonna be sweet and simple. Then we can go home and forget this ev-" As he finishes unbuckling his belt and begins to move onto his jeans, the figure crashes onto his back. He crumples beneath the weight, kneebuckling and a wrist breaking under him. He's knock unconscious as his head collides with the asphalt, Sabrina believeing he's even dead.
There is no time to check if the crash was enough as the figure lays still atop his back, hair flown around covering them.
Sabrina begins to shuffle back before finally getting into a crouch, holding their head with their left hand as they stand. The figure then goes still as they shuffle around with what Sabrina can only assume are their arms.
'A .. girl? A girl just /jumped/ and she lived -! Is she alright, what the fuck do I -' Before she can get any closer the the mysterious savior, they begin to straighten on the man's collasped body. Sabrina can she the blood that soaked into his coat from the handle still buried inside. She follows the blood to the left hand loosely grasping it as the other slips away to wipe at the girl's face. Sabrina follows the motion until she meets her eyes.
The makeup is violet and smeared above smooth scarred skin, acting like a mask that surrounds her wide eyes, clear and blue like a refreshing
pool. As the girl raises her head to look clearer towards Sabrina, standing up and taller, she reveals more of her face to Sabrina in the process.
In the dim light of the street lamps she can ctach a hint of specks across her face, and lips bloddy red and glossed, full. 'So young, she looks so young,' Sabrina concludes. Her mouth is left agape as she watches the girl look away to pocket the blade and attempt lazily to swipe a little more blood from her face. Then, only then, does Sabrina catch the sight of feathers protruding from her neck and down into her shirt, lining her collarbone. She looks further down and finds them on her arms, ringing up her forearms and bunching at where her leather jacket sleeves are rolled up.
The girl then perks up and shoots her head to face back at Sabrina once the blade is away. She then begins to pull her sleevs down and shrug her coat off her shoulders, sending Sabrina into a panic.
"No! Get the fuck away from me - I don't care if you killed that fucking creep, doesn't give you a free ticket -"
She scramlbes back, stumbling as she makes a quick grab for the man's knife that skidded away in his collaspe. Raising it, she grasps it with both hands strangling the handle, shaking as she does but keeps the blade up and pointing towards the girl. She is once again caught off guard by the leather jacket stretched out towards her.
The girl now stands with her ripped jeans, a latex bralette with mesh on top, completely unbothered by both the cold and the corspe she continues to stand upon.
When Sabrina continues to hesitated the girl hums and takes a step closer causing the coat to swing towards her. Sabrina still keeps the balde in her right hand but accepts the jacket with her left, wwiping it quick and throwing it over her shoulders. The girl is obviously smaller than her despite the heeled boots, spiked with straps all around it.
"Are - Are the heels bladed as well?" Sabrina hears the balde scratch against the asphalt, bringing both of their attention towards the girl's boots.
"Mm-hmm," she comfirms as she clicks the blade back in, lifting onto her toes to knock the heels together and retractibg them with a stomp on the ground.
"Some Wizard of Oz shit, fuck alright," Sabrina whispers mainly to herself a bit dumbfounded. "How are you gonna deal with that fucker - oh! You're going to need a place to hide! Me and Carol can-"
She feels herself begin to wobble again, the aderaline of the night seeming to have worn off.
"Ah, fuck!" She drops the blade and graps her head with her right hand and pinches the coat around her with her left to keep from slipping off. She blinks a little too rapid for comfort, her stomach feeling like slosh and ready to spill. "Whoah. . Hey, girl ... shits really spinning over here.."
This sends the girl into action as she jumps up to catch Sabrina, arms stretched and reaching. All Sabrina can see before she loses consciousness is how her hair flys and the feathers flitter with the breeze, how real worried she looks.
'The poor kid..'
