Boarding the Zep 25

Mission Report: Zep 25 Food Replicator Retrieval

During pre-mission briefing and planning it was decided that we hide some weapons on board the Zep 25. At the time, this seemed to be a wise choice, as we would not be allowed to board the ship with our weapons on us.

We began looking around the ship after liftoff. For a private liner, there was a lot of security on board. Several automaton security droids were moving around the ship, with a few stationed in certain areas. Unfortunately, there were two stationed very near to where we had our weapons and armor stashed.

As dinner was being served, a very strange thing happened. Several of the passengers, as they began to eat the food that had been ‘replicated’ turned into large piles of slime.

All of us noticed this and chose not to eat. We also decided that this would be a good time to head and get our equipment. Those security droids were tougher than we expected. I was attempting to disable one, when it actually disabled me. It dragged me into a holding room. I started coming too just as it tossed me into the room.

I recovered enough of my senses just after the security droid closed the door. I attempt to open it, but it is locked tighter than I can force.
I also note that the husband of the owner of the company that runs the Zep 25 is in the room. Unfortunately, I noticed a second too late, as I Bilocated to open the door. TSB 2 moves to the husband while I really beat on the door, and it busts open. TSB 2 gets the husband to agree to help us out while I get knocked senseless again by the security droid. TSB 2 moves back into the fray, and then the two of us take it out.
The rest of the team show up at this point, and we make our way back to the door onto the back of the ship. It is there that we find some more of the slime piles, and some more security droids.
Now that we all have our weapons and armor, it is much easier to deal with the security droids.
Our computer specialist is able to overcome many of the security systems controlling the replicator systems. The replicators probably won’t be able to be reproduced to help feed people, as they use very unstable compounds, and those compounds turn people in to slime puddles.
The husband lets us know that there are problems on Mars, and that his wife doesn’t want to shut down the processors there to stop these problems.
It is decided that we are going to take over the ship, and rather than turn around and land back on earth, make our way to Mars.
The rest of the trip is very quiet, and a hungry one. The ‘real’ food is sparce, and what can be safely replicated is bland, worse than the school food.
When we land on Mars, we are taken to the main mining operation on a walking platform. On the way there, we met roaming ‘zombies’ out in the Martian desert.
We arrive at the mining operation to see that it is being attacked by a large crazy turtle like mega-beast. This thing is larger than the walking platform that we rode to the mining station on.
Not sure what we can do against it, but, I have a feeling that we are going to try. If I’m going to die, I would prefer on earth, but, mine is not to question why, mine is to do…
