Shadowglen and Redwing, Issue 1: The Sigil Event
Shadowglen and Redwing have tracked a Necromancer to the villain's desert lair in the middle of the night. It is a small two-story sandstone building in the town of Warclaw. They walk around back and after a brief discussion about the Necromancer, Shadowglen jumps through the window. Redwing flies onto the roof, and lands near a chimney where he begins to play a horn very well down into the chimney.
Shadowglen had bounced into what appeared to be a bedroom. He begins searching the contents of the room while Redwing continued to play music throughout the house. He finds an envelope addressed to Shiela. "Things are tough, but I've found an opportunity I have to take. With love." Shadowglen knows that whoever wrote this was contacting Shiela. "This might be connected to the Opportunist; I'll save this letter so Albert can look at it later," says Shadowglen knowingly. The Oppurtunist was a name Shadowglen had given to a someone who had been giving out opportunities in the undercity of Warclaw.
Shadowglen gets his shadow rope and rigs up a tripwire trap, and then throws the door open before becoming one with the shadows. Shadowglen sees two undead creatures trip over the rope into the room and gets ready to attack them. Redwing, meanwhile, lights a torch and descends into the building where he is quickly reunited with Shadowglen fighting a mummy and an undead knoll. Redwing takes two swings with his katana. Shadowglen punches the knoll down. The mummy paralyzes Redwing with fear, sending him to the sunken place. Redwing recovers and stabs the mummy putting it down for good. Shadowglen gives Redwing a pep talk.
Then, Shadowglen unlocks a door and Redwing descends a stairs, while Shadowglen lurks behind in the SHADOWS. Redwing finds the food stores of the necromancer. He steals the pickles and places them into his backpack. After, he throws a pickle jar through a strange wall. They hear it shatter. They throw several items through, until Redwing finally enters. He is attacked by a spellcaster and force to flee, Shadowglen comes through with his Shadowrang and strikes the spellcaster. They fight with him, and he eventually disappears after taking four back to back hits from Redwing's evil sword.
Shadowglen reads the notes at the spellcaster's desk and finds information that the spellcaster is David. He's gone made and he's been receiving visions from the "Outer Proprietor." Shadowglen screams out that they need to find Shiela, and then notices a hand moving. He punches it. The jar shatters and Shiela's hand runs away. Shadowglen knocks it out with the shadowrang, and then Redwing eats it. It dies. Shadowglen mourns the loss of Sheila.
Shadowglen and Redwing return to the Shadowcove underneath the Wayans family Condos. Shadowglen is Glen Bruno Wayans. He receives a letter from a stranger. It has a spiky donut emblem and Master Wayans open the letter and receives news of his future death. He considers contacting the Fairness Faction, but remembers that Hyperman is off-tending to his planet of Hyperion. So Shadowglen leaves to meet The Force, writers of the letter. Redwing and Shadowglen make their way to meet The Force and avoid their deaths on a boat in a desert.
The boat has a voice, and it takes off without input. They sail towards a fortress, arriving at Sigil in space and are declared its defenders by The Force.
