Prerequisite: The ability to use at least one Metamagic option
You can perform a 1-hour ritual to assign one of your Metamagic options to a spellcasting focus in your possession, turning the item into a Metamagic tool. A Metamagic tool can only have one assigned Metamagic option at a time. Likewise, you cannot have more Metamagic tools than you have Metamagic options; you can’t assign any of your options to more than one spellcasting focus at a time. When a Metamagic option of yours is assigned to a spellcasting focus, you can only use that option when using the assigned focus to cast the affected spell. If the Metamagic option is of the rare sort applied after the casting, you must have the tool in one of your hands when you apply its contained Metamagic option. While a Metamagic tool is in your possession, you can use an action to recover up to 1 sorcery point that you used to apply its Metamagic option within the last 10 minutes. You can only invoke this effect once, regardless of how many different Metamagic tools you employ. You regain the ability to invoke this effect when you complete a short or long rest. An affected item remains a Metamagic tool until it is destroyed or until you use another 1-hour ritual to remove or reassign the option. The item does not need to be in your possession for you to ritually remove or reassign the option.
