Chainwright

The great prison of Carceri is not a place one would wish to live in often, but this breed of aasimar have not only survived living as constant wardens; they have flourished. As the foremost level of security, chainwrights are often charged with capture and containment, and they have gotten very good at it over the aeons.   A huge number of Chainwright Aasimar can be found under the Eidal of Chains and living within Calvara, The Theocracy of Irons.

Race Modifications
With your DM's permission, you can change the following aspects of the base aasimar race in the following ways;
  • You can choose to replace one of the damage resistances from your Celestial Resistance with resistance to force damage instead.
  • You can learn either the blade ward or resistance cantrip instead of light.
Lawbringer
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your action to bring forth the order and power of the greatest jailers of Carceri, causing ethereal chains to emerge from your body and lash out at nearby objects, and your voice to become forceful and demanding.   Your transformation lasts for 1 minute or until you end it as a bonus action. The first time you hit a creature with an attack on your turn, you cause magical chains to emerge from the ether and restrain it, making it unable to move more than 15 feet away from the space where you attacked it, unless teleportation or similar abilities are used.   Once before your transformation ends, if you fail a saving throw, you can choose to automatically succeed instead.   Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
