Black Bear by Keaton Contrary to what their name might suggest, a Black bear can range in hue from blond to cinammon to a deeper black, depending on what would be most beneficial to their environment. They are smaller than other bears, but no less ferocious. They are also the only bear capable of climbing trees even into adulthood, others are too big and heavy. They are omnivores, as almost all bears (except the polar bear) and are as much opportunist as predator, willing to scavenge and to steal food. They are more timid than other bears, and unless they feel cornered or are defending their young, will choose to flee over fight. | |
