You utter words of power and touch one willing creature. For the duration, they become aware of the presence of traps within 120 ft of them, and the general nature of the danger posed by the traps. A trap, for the purpose of this spell, includes anything that would inflict a sudden or unexpected effect you consider harmful or undesirable, which was specifically intended as such by its creator. Thus, the spell would sense an area affected by the alarm spell, a glyph of warding, or a mechanical pit trap, but it would not reveal a natural weakness in the floor, an unstable ceiling, or a hidden sinkhole.

The spell can sense through wood or other organic materials, as well as dirt. The spell also penetrates up to 5 ft of stone, 1 ft of hard metals (such as adamantine, steel, or iron), or 1 inch of soft metals (such as gold or lead).

For the spell’s duration, the creature effected by the spell has advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) and Wisdom (Perception) checks to locate or notice traps and their effects.
