An orphaned child of 10 when Allied forced approached Berlin, Kirra received her powers directly from the Havock. Already forced by circumstance to be a hardened survivor, she felt no compunctions about using her new advantages to steal food and other supplies from occupying forces in the aftermath. In the months and years that followed, this evolved into stealing valuables from the wealthy cosmopolitans that began to resettle the rechristened city of Arcadia.

In more recent years, Shadowlark has adopted a false identity to facilitate in identifying her future targets. She went to no small expense to establish this persona, not to mention solitary training to assume suitable mannerisms and accent. Claire is nominally a student at Arcadia University, though it is a part of the character that she attends classes irregularly, and is apparently more interested in socializing with her peers. As such, Claire is popular with the opposite sex, in no small part since it is known that she is the only child of a well-to-do British merchant trader. She is known to be an outrageous flirt, but very seldom if ever awards any singular affection on any of her suitors. She is far less popular among those of her own sex, however - it is, after all, quite scandalous for a single woman of means to be going about completely unchaperoned.
