Ethical Vectors

An Ethical Vector represents a guiding force or principle that influences how decisions are made. It acts like a directional arrow, helping entities navigate and interact with the world around them.   Everything—whether it’s a person, action, or idea—is made up of four Vectors: Will, Empathy, Discernment, and Sense. These Vectors exist at every level of Reality, and their influence can vary in strength for each entity. The way these Vectors combine determines how decisions are made and how behaviors unfold. This combination creates a rich and interconnected landscape where different decisions and actions are shaped by the balance of these guiding forces.   They form the cardinal points of The Compass, a metaphysical map of Reality which the Vocru used to realize their species' highest moral imperative, the Burden of Rule.

Vectors are not just abstract concepts, but geometric structures which affect the curvature of spacetime: In Simplified Iconic, these are represented by a triangle for Will, circle for Empathy, square for Discernment, and hexagon for Sense.   Considered in isolation, each embodies a unique Perspective, which defines the moral and existential pathways available to a given entity.   While most beings experience a dynamic interaction between these shapes, allowing for a balanced and adaptable view of the world, there are those who, through use of Enthredic, have learned to hone their focus on one Vector to the exclusion of all others. This intense focus can create a Perspective that is penetrating and powerful, yet also narrow, isolating, and potentially disruptive to the fabric of Reality itself.
