Lane Hendrson, Twilight Cleric of Fharlanghn

I will be a cleric of Fharlanghn. I am the grandfather of one of women that were killed by the cultists (the death wiped out my remaining family in Greenbriar). I was born and raised in Greenbriar. I was a farmer, and a default worshipper of Fharlanghan (only since a temple was there), but have never left the immediate area. In the wake of the death(s) and in a fit of sleepless grief, I went to the temple to pray and mourn.

The priests were always changing since they are wanderers after all. This time, a very, VERY old priest was in attendence. As I prayed and wept freely in the sanctuary he approached me. He listened as I spoke of my loss. He invited me to the knave while discussing the temporary nature of life and the body but the enduring nature of love. The spirits are free to travel in space, time and plane. He showed me a disk six inches in diameter. It is made of many kinds of wood and inlade with turquoise and jade, with a bright amber gemstone set in the middle.

As he spoke, he lifted the disk from it's resting place in the knave. He seemed to stare at intently and suddenly an image of a large city (Lorecaster) came into view zeroing in on a group of buildings I came to understand as the university. A Tiefling female stood before a building.

"Your journey here has ended" he said to me, touching me on the shoulder. Your new journey never ends but the Oerth Disc says that your first stop is at Lorecaster University. The amber gemstone began to pulsate and glow in his hand and a radiant energy seemed to be flowing from it to him to me. Or was it from him?

I felt all my sorrow begin to fall away and a restlessness come into my legs. As the radiant light faded, I felt a cloak upon me. It was of the deepest green with the symbol of the temple upon it.

The priest opened a small box on the knave and pulled forth a ring of several types of wood interlace with an amber gemstone. He presented it to me. As I placed it on my hand the amber pulsated with light.

"Fharlangan has seen that despite the lifetime in Greenbriar that you have always been on the journey with no destination. He has chosen you as one of his instruments" The old priests eyes twinkled. Were they just reflecting the light of the gem or were they the source? "You will see me again on your travels" he said.

"Your long life, the wisdom of the land you have tended...and your loss will serve you in ways you may not now expect". At the time of twilight, when day and night embrace, you will find your strength and your comfort."

"I must be going, for my travels never end. You never travel alone when you travel with Fharlanghn" He picked up the disc, gazed at it a moment and in a flash of amber light disappeared.

The disk that sent Lane Henderson along his "new path".
