Session 3 - 2/7/2020
A near-TPK
General Summary
Huren (the 9th month) 18, 1610 (continued) - The death of several PCs
Kasimir Voronov enters the pool. Aequus does not enter and goes to study writtings on the wall. Felpip watches with Unlander from the hole Kasimir knocked open in the wall. Kasimir is attacked by a grey ooze that he wadded through and a second one appears on the far end of the pool. Kasimir was low on hp and went down and eventually accumulates three failed death saves. Aquus rushes in to help leaves a threatened area and is taken to 0 and also reaches three failed death saves. Felpip also leaves a threatened area and winds up gaining three death saves. Unlander also goes down but manages to accumulate three successful death saves. Unlander wakes up some number of hours later to discover his allies have all expired. Alone, he backtracks out of the dungeon. He does not find Quincy Delatain, Quarton Delatain or Janadine Travis where the partly left them.Lessons learned
- Random Initiative can be "swingy" at low levels - monsters may get back-to-back turns but so can the PCs.
- Use of the disengage action (see sidebar) can be used to move away from an opponent and avoid a attack of opportunity.
DISENGAGE
If you take the Disengage action, your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks for the rest of the turn.-PHB pg 192
