Krestor RR-X "Barbarian"
That's a Krestor Barbarian. Trust me, you don't want that one—they aren't for the faint of heart. They've taken out a lot of the durable plating and maneuverability suites you get in military 'suits and stuffed the frame full of raw strength wrapped in tons of ablative armor. It's a power trip, sure, to watch pieces of your armor go flying as you hurl ships around. But if you give into that rush, you're as good as dead.

Mechanics & Inner Workings
The RR-X uses ablative armor to absorb and decrease the impact of attacks, rather than reinforced armor or enhanced maneuverability to evade or deflect incoming damage. Its ablative armor must be activated manually as part of a large suite of temporary overdrive enhancements. Dedicated RR-X pilots lovingly call this "Rage Mode," and a skilled pilot is able to extend her "rage" to last longer and grant more bursts per charge than a novice.
There are four (truly, five, but two of these are identified by Krestor as the same model with different options) common RR-X rigs:
Each of these has a slightly different overdrive suite. For example, the RR-1 engages additional psychic countermeasures during Rage Mode, while the RR-8 has an onboard emergency first-aid suite.

- RR-1 "Berserker", the prototype RR-X
- RR-3 "Spiritcaller" (with a variant colloquially called "Ancestral Might")
- RR-7 "Storm"
- RR-8 "Zealot"

Significance
The Krestor RR-X line of exosuits have been widely employed in civil strife and tribal conflict. Seen as more impressive and less oppressive than the military Staedt-Gregorivich TR2, they are employed where overwhelming force of arms is less appealing than simply being able to hit hard and take a beating. There's a certain showmanship involved in piloting a RR-X that has made the line, and Krestor Engineering, a household name in the frontier.
