Saracelli

Human visitors to Saracelli find it more alien than the homeworld of the Dwarves, dreamlike in nature. First and foremost is the relative dearth of water—a scant few rivers dot the deep jungles of the planet's equatorial band. The rich forests of the temperate zone are as dry as Sol III's Gobi desert. Such diverse life in an extreme environment seems so very counter-intuitive to humans, to the point that the beauty of my planet rapidly becomes a source of eerie discomfort.
-Harell Kos, Saracellan ambassador to Sol

Geography

Saracelli is extraordinarily dry for its lush environs. There are no oceans, seas, or lakes. A few stream-sized rivers bring water from one bed of plant life to another, but it never gathers in sufficient quantities to create standing water.
The planet has bare poles and rich tropical jungles, with practically unbroken temperate forest between.

Fauna & Flora

Plant and animal life on Saracelli, due to the dry environment, evolves slowly. A meal might be taken thrice a year. Plants might seed once every one hundred years. This behavior allows the lifeforms to lock in moisture more efficiently. Only the dominant species, the Elves, have sped their metabolisms, although they maintain the longevity of their planet's various species.

Natural Resources

Saracelli's biodiversity is its greatest boon. Numerous medicines and fuels have been extracted originally from Saracellan life.
