The Rotgarde

Lilly Blazepast. Do you pledge your loyalty to the Desolate Council and the people of Lordaeron, and submit to the authority of its officers without question and hesitation? I do.   Should Lordaeron require it of you, are you willing to submit yourself to True Death in its defense?   I am.   Then I, Hroth Blazemere, hereby appoint you as the Executor of the Third Tirisfal Footguard, with all the privileges and responsibilities that title bestows. From Seven scattered Kingdoms. Go forth, and forge One Empire.
-The Oath of the Third Tirisfal Footguard

Seven Kingdoms, One Empire

Said to be one of the Dark Lady's most loyal banners, the 3rd Tirisfal Queensguard boasts a record of victories humbling many of their compatriots. Marching to expand the borders of Forsaken influence and earn the favor of their Queen, they had hoped to carve out a generous piece of the world for their kind under her banner.

A Stygian Legion

The Rotgarde carry a bloodied past, fighting to be the tip of Lordaeron's spear in enough campaigns to fill a library. From the Harrowing of the Three Corners to the Vile Fumigation of the Highlands, it is said (chiefly by internal propaganda sources) that the mere mention of the Jaws of Undeath is enough to send any Alliance soldier into a fit of terror.   As the Dark Lady rose from Queen to Warchief, the Rotgarde stood faithfully by her side. Even as the rumbling of rebellion plagued the city of Orgrimmar they followed their orders without question, taking up arms against supposed traitors to the Horde, driving many into exile or early graves. Their acts in defense of the Banshee's vicious regime gained their power and influence in the Warrior City which their High Executor Phillip Perroy leveraged to create subordinate loyalist factions in the form of the Stygian Legion to better enforce the Warchief's will and bring the Horde to what the undead might have described as a golden era ... though this was not to last.   Although the Stygian Legion carried out its operations for years after the Banshee Queen's departure, the former Executor Melany Ashemere, the field commander of the once illustrious unit has been executed by the strong axe of Stone Guard Gruggosh. The High Executor of the Stygian Legion itself has been rumored to have gone into hiding.

Consequences

With the Banshee Queen discarding the Horde after a fateful mak'gora outside of Orgrimmar's gates, the Rotgarde soon followed - briefly feigning loyalty to the new regime to avoid prosecution only to march into the shadows of Lordaeron with the Icon of Torment flying high. Abandoned by the vast majority of their former allies in Orgrimmar, The Rotgarde are true believers - through misguided patriotism or a triumph of propaganda and indoctrination, they fight against all odds for their wayward monarch.   After years of brutal conflict, the Rotgarde have severed ties with their once relied upon comrades of the Grim Gest in favor of returning to the Horde's fold to better serve the Forsaken people. They are now chiefly stationed in the newly rebuilt Forsaken town of Brill and are led on the field by the dreaded Executor Lilly Blazepast, a warrior with a talent for brutality and sorcery alike.

    Friendly

The knights and the forsaken have cooperated many times in the past. The Blood Edict firmly believes the Forsaken, not only friends of Quel'thalas, but are also necessary for its security.

    Hostile

These walking corpses have caused more than enough trouble for the Sentry during their time in Gilneas.
