The Dragonspit Cult

The Dragonspit Cult is a small cult that was located in the Bling Islands, more spicifically, the islands closest to Dragonspit Mountain. The cult was dedicated to worshiping Pitaya; think of it as a more ancient version of The Chosen. This cult is believed to be the roots and beginning of The Chosen, their beliefs, and their ways of worship.

Culture

The Dragonspit Cult soley worshiped Pitaya and denounced all other deities. They believed that one day Pitaya would "rise from the ashes" and emerge from Dragonspit Mountain, ending his banishment and symbolizing his "rebirth". Pitaya would do so in the form of a dragon, dawning a new form in which he'd rule the Material Plane. As he emerged, he would cause the volcano to errupt, causing calamity for the world. The cult believed this to be their rapture and worshiped Pitaya in hopes to aid with his arrival and secure a place in his new world.

The Dragonspit Cult would go to neighboring islands and attack/ kidnap anyone who disagreed with their beliefs. The kidnapped victims would later be sacrificed into Dragonspit Mountain's maw and into the lava below. They believed by doing this they were feeding Pitaya souls and keeping him fed while in Exodus.

Public Agenda

The Dragonspit Cult wished to wipe out all other religions, not too dissimilar to The Chosen. The cult believed Pitaya was the only true god and all other gods should be punished. This is why it is believed The Phoenix wore apparel that represented the other deities; items taken from the deities post their demise.

Disbandment

It is unknown when and if the Dragonspit Cult disbanded, but there have been no news of the cult in over a century. The islands they once inhabited are now abandoned as well, as if they vanished into thin air.
